Mount Jefferson Wilderness, Oregon.
I held off completing this image for quite some time, knowing it was for a friend of mine, but somehow afraid that if I finished it, I would somehow hasten the inevitable. I should have known better than to question fate's time table, with my crude prayers for mercy, or my selfish hope for things to slow down and give us all more time. Soon enough, the reality of full daylight would sober me on that day, but for now, cirrus streaked above the volcanic mass of Mount Jefferson, bathed in sunrise pink, and glorious in passing. My dear friend, John Naioti, is gone. We met as he took a seat in class one day, and, in passing, said ‘I hear you play guitar’. It started a long road together, often diverging with life's interruptions, but always reuniting with the commonality of brothers on a journey neither of us saw coming, turned now into one bourbon tinged story after another. We never really grew up, age was just a number to us, nothing was sacred, everything was brought down to the most juvenile level, for the laugh. We still said the same time worn phrases to each other. We were still awed by the same mysteries, still driven by the same visions of ourselves. How do you say goodbye to a friend of 50 years? Over the last one, I guess I said it many times, without saying it. I watched the course of his trial, watched him be diminished physically, his big body made small—but never, ever, his presence. He taught me strength. I wonder if we take our memories with us. If we do, it must be honed down to a single thought, one that encompasses all of the love we’ve found in our lives, a quantum entity that never burns out. Maybe fate has a timetable to bring those sparks together again. I sit drinking coffee as dawn breaks, and I imagine his spirit, leaving these earthly bonds, lifting and racing high above me, free like the children we were, bursting in color to let me know, in passing.

Congratulations to our Bachelor in Management (BSc) students at ESCP who graduated on April 12th, 2025 in Berlin. The graduates lived and studied around Europe, switching between three of the School’s campuses each semester. Their journey came to a close here in Berlin with an official ceremony, followed by cocktail reception with family and friends.

In my garage I have two bins one for bird food and the other for dog biscuits, a couple of weeks ago I found one bin on its side ,at first I thought my two year old grandson might have pulled it over as he loves helping in the garden and he’s always up to mischief. The following days it happened again so I set my a spy camera . When I checked the footage I was pleasantly surprised that at 3am a Fox cub was the culprit. So last night after two weeks of planning and preparation and staying up till all hours I managed to get an image.WIP
I liked how the sunlight was highlighting the tops
This really is "our" tree. It's where I first met my wife. Her dad had made a tire swing from one of these large limbs and it was well known in our town.
"up here in my tree, yeah
newspapers matter not to me, yeah
no more crowbars to my head, yeah
i'm trading stories with the leaves instead, yeah
wave to all my friends, yeah
they don't seem to notice me, no
all their eyes trained on the street, yo, oh"

This is an image the moment I saw it in RAW, I knew right away that I want to do it in B&W. I'm not much of a monochrome person and I hope you folks like it.

In Sweden, tulips usually bloom in the spring. When they came to the country is uncertain, but documentation credits Olof Rudbeck the Elders with bringing over the seeds and bulbs after a trip to Holland. In 1685 he had 38 different kinds of tulips in his botanical garden in Uppsala, and the bulbs have spread since those day to many locations around the country.
Explore, # 62 July 13, 2009! 22/365 Taken Monday, 7/13/09 - It may almost look like I didn't change from the day before because I am wearing the same top; however, I sleep in the buff, so no, I did not sleep in my clothes, but yes, I did wear the same top on Sunday. I live in these things because they are so comfortable. I promise I will throw it in the wash before I go to bed!

Done so many pictures past months but no time to post-process. This is an older one - just showing a small frame of all the poppies growing in my garden.

Impressionist image of Tràigh Scarasta on the Isle of Harris. Taken not long after sunrise in February 2017, the lilac tones in the sky are gorgeous against the aqua and white sea and the light sand. Scarista Beach is possibly my favourite spot on Harris. It speaks to me and this image recreates the feeling of an almost dreamlike calm, balance and contentment that I get when I spend time there.
We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop

A large empty manor house somewhere in Belgium. A narrow gap in the thick drapes at the window casting a pool of light across this corner of the room. This room was full of chairs due to the house once being a venue for weddings. There is a small chapel attached to the house for just this purpose, however the house just sits empty for the time being.

After a long walk in the woods I needed a break on the floor. It's wonderful to lie here, my pantyhosed legs in the grass, in the soft moss.
The picture is taken with my Beltica I, the clouds were thick and it was snow in the air.
