Implemented by UNDP, the RFS Nigeria project aims to foster sustainability and resilience for food security in Northern Nigeria through addressing key environmental and socioeconomic drivers of food insecurity.
UN Assistant Secretary-General Thomas Gass provided a critical appraisal of the Summit’s outcome and outlined what needs to be done to implement the new agenda effectively. He also discussed which role the UN system can play in the promotion, implementation and monitoring of the new agenda.

Baghdad, 05 March 2018 – The Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, Ms. Pramila Patten, with the Secretary-General of the Iraqi Council of Ministers, Dr. Mahdi Al-Alaq, presented today in Baghdad the Draft Implementation plan of the Joint Communique with two High Level focal points and newly established inter-ministerial committee. The ‘Joint Communique’ between the United Nations and the Government of Iraq was signed on 23 September 2016 as a framework of cooperation to prevent and address conflict-related sexual violence committed in the country.

The Prevent duty is an important aspect of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015. Since its introduction, all schools are required to take steps to prevent their pupils from being drawn into terrorism. These steps include helping children build resilience towards radicalisation, and ensuring that staff are able to identify children who are at risk of being radicalised. The implementation of the Prevent duty has caused controversy in the media as well as in the academic literature, where the duty has been accused of stigmatising children, dividing communities, and making the UK less safe.
The aim of this research is to examine how the Prevent duty is being implemented in different schools in North Hampshire and the impact it is having. We are also interested in identifying practices that head teachers think have worked well in their schools.
We have conducted semi-structured interviews with head teachers and are developing a report based on our findings. This report will be distributed to schools across Hampshire and will form the basis of an academic journal article. We hope that this research will help head teachers with the future implementation of the Prevent duty in their schools.

ArtRwanda Ubuhanzi Grand Finale | 15 December 2018
ArtRwanda - Ubuhanzi is a nationwide talent search project implemented by Imbuto Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and the Ministry of Sports and Culture. The project aims at identifying and supporting young and talented Rwandans within the creative arts industry. It will consist of a televised nationwide search for creative youth in six different categories (plastic arts, dance & music, fashion, theatre & drama, cinematography & photography and literature).
We believe that Rwandan youths who have creative talents need to be nurtured further, to reach their full potential and create a positive impact in the creative and socio-economic development of our country. We also see the need to foster youth unemployment, which continues to be a serious issue, slowing down our national development.
Through this project, we aim to address these two problems simultaneously by recognizing and raising awareness of the talent that is widely present among Rwandan youth, while supporting the creation of jobs and employment for youth in the creative industry.
El encuentro ‘Implementación de las prioridades RIS3 en Crecimiento Azul‘, que reunió por primera vez a medio centenar de expertos y actores implicados en las polÃticas regionales de una docena de paÃses europeos que han identificado la EconomÃa Azul como una de sus prioridades estratégicas, junto a gestores de la Comisión Europea que dan soporte a las regiones y Estados miembros en el contexto de las estrategias de Especialización Inteligente.
Organizado por la Plataforma de Especialización Inteligente (S3 Platform), proyecto del Centro Común de Investigación de la Comisión Europea, y por el Gobierno de Canarias, a través de la ACIISI, el encuentro ha tenido como objetivo conocer cómo se ha priorizado el Crecimiento Azul dentro de las estrategias de especialización inteligente (RIS3) de estas regiones y debatir sobre las propuestas futuras para el desarrollo del sector en las economÃas europeas y regionales.
