El Campamento Escolar de Ciencias y Tecnología, implementado por CONICYT, a través de su Programa Explora, se llevó a cabo entre el lunes 17 y el viernes 21 de julio, y fue ejecutado por el Proyecto Asociativo Explora (PAR) de Arica y Parinacota de la Universidad de Tarapacá, bajo el nombre “Tras las huellas de la humanidad”.
Entre los científicos que dieron vida al campamento se cuenta el doctor Francisco Rothhammer, Premio Nacional de Ciencias Naturales 2016; y el doctor en Ciencias Matemáticas de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Fernando Blasco, autor de libros como “Matemagia”, que buscan acercar esta disciplina al público general.
Natalia Mackenzie, directora del Programa Explora, explicó: “estamos encabezando una serie de esfuerzos que permitirán a los alumnos tener un rol más protagónico en su proceso de aprendizaje. Uno de ellos es fomentar metodologías que les permitan experimentar de manera lúdica con la ciencia, en lugar de solo sentarse en la sala de clases y absorber contenidos, como ha ocurrido tradicionalmente”.

A fun day spent on my brother's farm. Who needs a gym when you've got a farm to work on?? We were gutting his old drive shed and found some interesting stuff buried in there. This funky looking blade was jus tone of the goodies.
Using nothing but a 2 1/4" hole saw, slow speed keeps the teeth from dulling and cuts faster than high rpms. I understand that IFGD did it with a dremel tool.

Since 1968, the Guthrie County Historical Village and Museum has been sharing our local treasures with the world. You’ll be amazed by the massive collection for viewing and learn more than you ever thought possible about Guthrie County - Iowa. We truly believe we are the hidden gem of Guthrie County.
The Village, located on a beautiful 4-acre complex on the southwest side of Panora, Iowa, features twelve buildings, numerous exhibits, and thousands of artifacts that explore the history of Guthrie County from 1850 to the early-20th Century.
The majority of our collection has been donated by families and friends in the surrounding communities. If you have not visited the museum recently, we encourage you to take time from your busy schedule to take a stroll through our lovely, little village. The museum is open May 1st to October 15th.
IMPLEMENT BUILDING: Contains a tribute to Guthrie County miners, a Lenon Mill display, and a collection of antique farm equipment, horse-drawn plows, tractors, a threshing machine and binder, and many other items typically found on early-working farms. (1)
