ROMA ARCHEOLOGICA & RESTAURO ARCHITETTURA 2025.

The paper presents the history of the excavation and arrangement of the western sector of the Basilica Ulpia, in the Forum of Trajan. As early as 1932, to allow for the urban development of the Piazza Venezia/Via dell’Impero axis. One of the exedras with trees from architect De Vico’s project was placed on the top of this basement. The intended use of the spaces of the Basilica Ulpia and the western Library of the Forum of Trajan was thus redefined as an archaeological depot of what emerged from the excavations. The first campaigns for the study and arrangement of these materials were launched in the early 1980s, also in the direction of a possible musealization of the basement. In recent decades, the material and structural degradation of the space has made it complicated to implement a visit route for the public. For this reason, constant monitoring and active action to preserve the spaces and materials has been combined with the planning of works of restoration. These works are now part of the Roman Cultural Heritage for EU Next Generation program of the PNRR.

Rivista del Parco archeologico del Colosseo, Vol. 1 (2023).

Founded in 1599 and razed to the ground between 1932 and 1933, the convent of Sant’Urbano ai Pantani stood on the corner of Via Alessandrina and Via dei Carbonari, on the southern edge of the area formerly occupied by the Trajan’s Forum; its church was built inside a 13th-century building, possibly the hospital of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem. What remains of the complex has been recovered thanks to the archaeological excavations conducted by the Sovrintendenza Capitolina in the years 1998-2000 and has been included in the extensive requalification plan for the archaeological area of the Imperial Fora, financed by PNRR and 2025 Jubilee funds. In particular, Jubilee funds will be used for restoring the structures, reconstructing the 17th-century floor of the church and covering the cellars of the convent. The rooms thus restored can be used as a lapidarium and exhibition space dedicated to the millennial history of this area of the Trajan’s Forum.

ArtRwanda Ubuhanzi Grand Finale | 15 December 2018

ArtRwanda - Ubuhanzi is a nationwide talent search project implemented by Imbuto Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and the Ministry of Sports and Culture. The project aims at identifying and supporting young and talented Rwandans within the creative arts industry. It will consist of a televised nationwide search for creative youth in six different categories (plastic arts, dance & music, fashion, theatre & drama, cinematography & photography and literature).

We believe that Rwandan youths who have creative talents need to be nurtured further, to reach their full potential and create a positive impact in the creative and socio-economic development of our country. We also see the need to foster youth unemployment, which continues to be a serious issue, slowing down our national development.

Through this project, we aim to address these two problems simultaneously by recognizing and raising awareness of the talent that is widely present among Rwandan youth, while supporting the creation of jobs and employment for youth in the creative industry.

As a gesture of goodwill Mr. Ammer Shah Donor of Lodhie Foundation offered a gift of 30 solar powered LED lights to the Village Abdul Hakeem Shah, located near Keenjhar Lake, District Thatta ,Sindh.

Benefits

·Freedom from Darkness — The sunlight fades as early as 6 p.m, leaving the villagers in complete darkness. With solar lantern lighting, they have about an additional five hours of light to add to each day.

·Freedom from Illiteracy — More hours of light means more hours for children to study and get a better education, which is crucial to improving their social-economic future.

·Freedom from Poverty — With solar LED lanterns, the villagers no longer have to pay for expensive kerosene lanterns. Also, with more hours of light, the men and women have additional hours to work, which means more income for each household.

·Freedom from Hunger — More income means more money to better feed each member of the family; a daily concern for villagers.

·Freedom from Disease — Kerosene lanterns give off toxic and dangerous fumes; solar LED lanterns do not. LED lanterns also provide extra visibility, which helps against nighttime hazards.
