Another pair from the last wave of dahlias before my Mom took the rest down ahead of further frosts and freezes on the horizon for us.I have used Photoshop, layered and masked to soften and minimize the distracting garden background. Late afternoon skies gave them this typically beautiful soft light, which was enhanced, colorwise, as well.
I love the way the texture color only shows up in the lamp glass while just darkening and mottling the blue background.

Use Paint.Net 3.01 to create this image. The bronze horse is masked out and applied with motion blur and the rest of the image is remasked back in. I am trying to create a "moving" horse inside the display case. I am still a novice at this presently because I can't seem to get the legs "moving" faster with multiple image, while having the body of the horse blurred and have the shadows "casted" right... Oh well, some project to do in the future.

My Brother has this bottle of Marilyn Merlot. I was playing with it since he wont let us drink it. ;-)
Hey guys, you all got the story all wrong!
Shoulder resting gal is pining for orange dude; and orange dude is thinking why is life so difficult.
He is thinking, "Why must I always have to make choices. Need I choose between Ah Huai or Ah Lian or Michael? And there's already this gal my mum is matchmaking me to. And now this gal has to come into his life. And why this pesky cameraman taking my picture."
The South African Sun Star was photographed under daylight balanced fluorescent light, using my CCRLS tabletop setup. Photoshop CS2 handled the tweaks including some judicious up-saturation after combining three exposures into one, using CS2's HDR function.

Reminiscent of days gone by....
This is a monochromed version of one of my favorite photos. (See original in the first comment below.) I used a Chalk and Charcoal filter (for texture) and converted to greyscale in Photoshop and used the Antique filter in Digital Image Pro. The vignette was added in Picnik.

One more variation.. a play on it's name.. but also a play on satellite dishes, which so many flower resemble. This version got its start from playing with the Nikon 18-55mm kit lens zooming during exposure. After some Photoshop enhancements of some elements, this is its broadcast for now.
