December Diary Project 2009: A Picture every day for the month of December following the theme Shadows and / or Reflections.
Shadows of decor on my shelves.
I know everything is wrong with this photo. It was way under exposed. I did lots of editing b/c I love the angle, contrast between old and new, and all those windows. As a result my sky looks like a halo. I kinda like how that happened too.

When I was little I was told that a spirit lives up this spiral staircase, whose access is barred - even now. And this spirit descends at night to animate all the exhibits in the museum, just as in Ben Stiller's recent movie, "Night at the Museum".

Not optimal, because I don't have photoshop (only at workplace), so the borders aren't that smooth. My goal was to look what happens when you put an "inivisible" saturation gradient on a picture.
One variation on a headshot of my actor cousin, Frank. I ran it through an open source HDR program, called qtpsfgui, creating several versions, then opened some of them in Adobe Photoshop where I played with them stacked in different ways.
You can get this flexible HDR program here: qtpfsgui.sourceforge.net/
this was the starting point for my image below, it was interesting how unimportant it became as i worked the image and other layers and ideas took hold. This image does'nt do a lot for me, I only am posting it here on flickr for what it's worth to share the evolution of an image that evoled into a something.
Pimped Picture 46b Colour cast removed and highlight flash added to facial area then background removed to replicate low key work additional sharpening to the eyes and lips and additional saturation added to the lips too then a little burning in work to bring back shadow detail also thinned out the cheek bones slightly to give the face a slimmer leaner appearance then finally selected the top and converted to black and white to bring out the slogan and a slight crop to the image. This was done as part of flickr group Pimp Me and Pimp My Pixels.
