We drove around Shreveport, Louisiana, when we were on our trip. We followed a map of special homes in the area. This was just a really pretty house with lush foliage. Of course I just couldn't resist playing with color.
As with virtually all my abstracts this started life as a digital capture, was then manipulated, finally printed to canvas.
5th Birthday flyer for Club 30-80 (www.club30to80.co.uk). Our second isolation disco birthday party. Our theme was "what was in the charts on your fifth birthday?"

This was illustrated for the Brunswick Boats microsite launched in the summer of 2007. The microsite has been replaced with a new version for the Fall season. This digital collage was stitched together in Photoshop using hundreds of layers using pieces from hundreds of photos taken during the photoshoots. Nothing shown here exists in real life. even the signboard was created from parts and pieces.
Tis the season, or was the season. Some leave the decorations up for some time, some people never take them down. Was stopped at a traffic signal, took this on my way home from Gooseberry State Park this past weekend. 1/3 second 6400 iso, handheld through the windshield! : ) Processed in Sketcher.
Blackwoods Restaurant, a popular choice in the area.
...one of the models at the weekly Friday night "Sketch and Shoot".... this session was the Sept 28th Film Noir themed night.
I used Adobe Photoshop to create the effects, inspired by the presence of the vintage fan, after making first tweaks in Adobe Lightroom.

My 300th Image! I wanted the milestone to be a 'circle' image! ;-)
I keep getting caught up in the industrial, yet futuristic, nature of the original 'seed' image ,,uploaded by EOS1954
www.flickr.com/photos/55096959@N00/113594241/
for the WET Challenge Thread :
www.flickr.com/groups/amazingcircles/discuss/720575940837...
of the Amazing Circles Group:
www.flickr.com/groups/amazingcircles/
The initial 'craft' was made using a 'circle' of the base layer, which was, itself, created using three sections of the seed image, combined with another image.
This one wound up with 26 layers, before it was done.. adding another element from the First seed for the Challenges,
www.flickr.com/groups/amazingcircles/discuss/166266/ ,
as well as layers just for the 'down lights' , etc under and within the 'craft'.
The craft occured to me because I 'circle' the rectangle, instead of cropping to a square, first..
when I want a round circle, I then scale it to a square after the process.
In this case, the oblong just 'screamed' vehicle, of Some sort.
More could be done, but my eyes are Quite irritated enough, thank you, for One night.
Ok so here are some random things that are all about me...
1. I am totally addicted to flickr. I only bought my camera to photo my handcrafted jewelry to sell, but, I have been so inspired by the talent here that I have started to learn some basics of photography and hope to contribute my own light. Get it? Light? Yup I'm learnin'! I got a new camera for my birthday that I thought I researched well...It's OK but now I want that Cannon Rebel really really bad! Did I say I was addicted to Flickr?
2. I am very clumsy.
3. I read someone else's 16 things that said there is "No filter between my brain and my mouth" This is true for me as well. A most eloquent way to put it tho, I think. ;o)
4. I am not a vegitarian, but, I rarely eat meat. Pasta and or soup is my thing.
5. I am extremely afraid of heights. I get physically ill at anything higher than say 4 feet up a ladder.
6. I have no tatoos nor would I get any. I love art and all but there is a point...besides I am not fond of pain.
7. I take baths not showers. I always have.
8. I hate to drive. I get so paranoid that it isnt a pleasure at all!
9. I am an excellent cook. Mostly southern fare from scratch.
10. I love music. I love to sing. Lyrics turn me on. I mean, HOW do they DO that! This is an art I totally admire.
11. I always wanted straight hair. I tried everything on the planet to straighten my hair when I was a kid. Yes, even ironing. I guess I have mellowed out in that regard. I just wash and wear now.
12. I dont believe anyone should refer to anyone as step-anyone. All of my sons in my blended family will always be brothers and thats Final!
13. I can tread water for hours! I dont see what the big deal is. Everyone I know tires out before I do, but, that is the only "Sport" I do. (Read #2)
14. I can probably fix most things around the house on my own but I feign not knowing how so I wont have to do it. ;o)
15. For about 7 years I got a job at the South Carolina State Fair selling ride tickets from a ticket booth approx 14 to16 hours a day for the entire 11 days the Fair was in town. The most fun hard work I used to look forward to every year. I stopped doing it to begin trying the craft show thing. Heres a big hint honeys COUNT YOUR CHANGE. How many times have you left the fair thinking Damn.. I know I didnt spend that much money!?
YOU PROBABLY DIDN'T!
16. Of course yall know I love my Wicca, but I adore all animals! I have that special voice for all creatures and generally I earn an animals trust pretty quicky. I am a huge advocate of being a responsible pet owner. Please have your pets fixed and for goodness sake quit tying dogs to trees and stuff! How would you like to be tied to a tree?? I hate that!!!

Just because I did some artsy stuff with my image I took through a telescope and with a sub-megapixel camera (Sony Mavica) doesn't mean that these aren't very real swans. They were gorgeous, but far way from me. Taken at Cabell Marsh/Pond at Finley Wildlife Refuge.

MEET SCOOTER! I volunteer with Central Texas Dachshund Rescue as a foster parent. I was asked to photograph the dogs for the 2009 Rescue Calendar and it was a huge success! Scooter was chosen to be Miss January. Since Scooter has to be in a diaper most of the time, we decided she would make the perfect New Year's baby. Scooter is a funny little girl with a great spirit!
Take a closer look at Scooter's final photoshopped image and read her story.
