Supreme Pan film image captured by my father with Leica screw-mount camera and Elmar lens when he was 25 years old. The man on the left was his co-pilot (he died five years ago in New York) and the man on the right was an electronics specialist (he is alive, lives in Alabama, and received from me this print in addition to five others showing him. Boy, was he suprised and shocked to receive them--he'd never seen any of the images before!) This print is startling to view even at 5x7 inches: the immense clarity, sharpness, and tonality are perfection--quite an enormously astonishing finding considering the age of the negative and other factors. My dichroic enlarger performed beautifully! This is a straight print with no manipulations at all.

A Grade II Listed War Memorial in Duffy's Park outside the Grade I Listed Halifax Minster, Kingsway, Halifax, West Yorkshire.
Dating from 1922 and altered in 1947 after World War 2. Ashlar, Tapered rectangular stone pier, raised on three shallow steps and a chamfered plinth. Inscriptions to both World Wars. Head plaque added to commemorate 1939-45 war. This memorial originally stood in Belle Vue Park, moved to its present site in 1980.
Halifax Minster, formerly a Parish Church until 23 November 2009, was completed by about 1438. It comprises a nave, chancel and full-length aisles, and is thought to be the third church on this site, but it includes stonework from earlier periods. There are a few carved chevron stones, which date from before 1150, and several 12th century tomb-covers in the porch. Windows of the Early English style in the north wall are replacements of originals dating from the 14th century. A portion of this north wall is much earlier, and may have originally been part of the Norman church; it has sometimes been claimed this was the south wall of an older church.
After the completion of the present nave and chancel, several additions were made. The tower was erected between 1449 and 1482; and the Rokeby and Holdsworth Chapels - originally chantry chapels - were completed by about 1535.

I've been doing experiments on different films on different compact cameras as I will be heading to India for a photographic tour (excited!).
I own Olympus Mju II, Natura Classica and Lomo LCA which all qualify as good quality compact cameras. The Natura will probably rank first, then Mju, then LCA (in terms of reliability for general photo records and as back up for my big SLR or whatever...)
The other trial I am doing is to PUSH iso400 films to 1600 and see whether I am happy with the results, as I don't really want to go through the trouble of getting manual hand searches by each customs which I am going through.
Will be updating here.

This is my Foth Derby II. (At least, i think it's a II.) Dates that i could glean from Web research vary, but one source states authoritatively that the Foth Derby II was produced between 1934 - 1942. The Derby is a very solid little camera. It's a strut-folding half-frame camera, making 16 exposures on 127 film. Mine has a 50 mm, f/2.5 Foth Anastigmat lens. The shutter is a cloth focal-plane shutter offering speeds from 1 to 1/500 of a second plus bulb. There's a little fold-up viewer and a self timer.
My Derby is nearly perfect, but unfortunately there are pinholes in the cloth shutter. This is a shame because the shutter seems completely on the money regarding exposure time, in stark contrast to the slow rim-set Compur shutters on my two other 1930s German 127 folders, the Kodak Vollenda and the ZEH Goldi.
My shots with the Foth Derby are here. Because of the pinholes in the shutter, i had to do some cleanup on these images.
Pete (a/k/a century_graphic) has been posting some excellent photos taken with the Derby--see his Foth Derby set.

Shot with a Samsung c417 cameraphone in a quick 'n' dirty studio setup including a big piece of drawing paper, a kitchen window, some halogen under-cabinet lights and a plastic shopping bag. Sorry about the utter lack of shadow detail.

I recently did a shoot for Integrated Pain Associates & the Central Texas Day Surgery Center in Killeen, TX. We were taking headshots of the staff and various facility photos. A friend of mine is building their new website so all the photos were taken for the site.
Lighting info was a 430EX II in 24" softbox camera left, 430EX II in 22" beauty dish camera right, and a 430EX II with blue/green gel directly behind the model for the background color - triggered by camera mounted 580EX II.
