This was the second location of the legendary Crawford Grill jazz club. The grill was owned by baseball owner Gus Greenlee (known for signing Satchel Paige and Josh Gibson and also for building the first black-owned ballpark), and almost every jazz musician of note played at the grill at one point or another, as the Hill District was a booming cultural crossroads between New York and Chicago. Famous Pittsburgh jazz musicians include Billy Strayhorn, Billy Eckstine, Erroll Garner, Earl Hines, Paul Chambers, Ray Brown, Art Blakey, Ahmad Jamal, Stanley Turrentine, Mary Lou Williams, Lena Horne, and Roy Eldridge.

Siempre os había enseñado las vistas de la ofi hacia la Zurriola, pero las del patio eran mucho más interesantes...

En recuerdo de una cotidianeidad que ya no viviremos.

There are a few of these gorgeous sleek sailing vessels at the R.C.Y.C. ... it's quite a sight to see them go out ... last Tuesday some were going for a leisurely sail in the harbour ... there was a pretty good breeze ... and it seemed that they(the crew) were enjoying the evening.

International Eight Metre Class are class of racing yachts. Eight Metre boats (often called "Eights" or 8mR) are a construction class, meaning that the boats are not identical but are all designed to meet specific measurement formula, in this case International Rule. Before WW II Eights were the most prestigious international yacht racing class, and they are still actively raced around the world. "Eight metre" in class name does not, somewhat confusingly, refer to length of the boat, but product of the formula. 8mR boats are on average some 15 metres long. Between 1907 and 2008 approximately 500 8mR boats were built, 177 of them have survived until today.

NO INVITES with BIG SPARKLY GRAPHICS. PLEASE, TRY TO RESPECT MY WISHES.

I prefer simple honest comments, rather then a copy & paste of an award code.

Many thanks!

Our changing world & grand discoveries have made us blind to the natural beauty around us, losing our connection to the Earth. We have so little of these magical places left, especially in the North Eastern US. Dark skies and natural habitats for many bird species just don't exist anymore due to mans misuse of lights and waste of the natural resources.
