Despite Leica's best effots, the best 35mm rangefinder of the prewar years was the Zeiss Ikon Contax II. Its super-precise wide base rangefinder shared a single eyepiece with the viewfinder, and it could not go out of vertical alignment. The shutter could not fade and was impervious to burning damage from sunlight coming through the lens. Shutter speeds ran from 1/2 to 1/1250, plus the self timer provided a 1 second speed and a latching shutter release button added a T setting. This one dates from 1936.

Second shot from yesterdays sunrise and probably the last one for a while of this sunrise. I have a few more but i want to bring a bit more variety to my stream.
This one is a few minutes later than the previous one. I really love those moods when there is a rest of fog over Lake Constance. This often creates these intense sunrises in our region. But when there's light, there's also shadow. The next days, the weather forecast predicted a lot of rain. But maybe that's good for me to focus on my exam tomorrow and next week :)

Chaika was the call sign of the first Russian female cosmonaut, Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova. She became extremely famous for her achievements and is still considered a hero in Russia. It's very likely that this line of cameras were at least partly named in honor of her. Her famous flight took place 1963 and the first Chaika camera was sold in 1965.
The difference between Chaika-I and Chaika-2 is addd a removable screw mount lens which could be used as the lens for an enlarger that was apparently never made available. The threads are the same as those for a Leica lens, but the focusing distance is different, so the lenses are not compatible.

I've tried for a shot I like at these falls every time I pass (to be fair, it's not often) but have never managed to get the right mix of technique and conditions until this last visit.
The weather was brilliant, but the use of the ten stop filter and a b&w conversion gave this the atmosphere that I had wanted for the shot.

The light color of the road surface comes from the coarse shell rock aggregate used for fill in Florida.
Much of Florida history was lost to old roads, with ancient Indian mounds mined for fill in the early days of Florida development.

The second version of the Bluenose II had been reworked in 2013.
I remember when i saw the original Bluenose II when we lived in Victoria.

The portrait is from the series of "Migrated Baloch Tribes in Sindh". I met this beautiful newly married girl in a remote village of Sindh province called Shambani Village.
Last variation of the Petri 7. By 1971 this camera was really outdated and very short of features. It wasn't a contender for the the Canonets and Electro 35 with its sellenium meter and no automation. Still, the viewfinder is large and bright, with the match needle exposure system visible and it is quick to set exposure with this Petri.
Contrary to what I have read, this model still has the "green 'o matic" window over the rangefinder.
So this one I feel I should say something about. It honestly didn't strike me as especially creepy at the time, but the walls and floor really were streaked deep rusty red. Bumping up the contrast to extremes (without touching the color balance itself) yielded these unsettling results.
