Okay, we have more notes than that but we'll write up a post about that later.
Granted I'm not dealing with the snowstorm or excessive cold, but hot chocolate, a hot shower, and jammies fresh from the dryer still make for a pleasant winter night.
Hot chocolate with marshmallows in my personal Starbucks Coffee mug.
On February 23, 2011, it snowed like crazy over in Victoria. There was snow about 30cm deep on my yard and it was freezing. Us Victoria inhabitants think snow is a big deal.
This was heaven when I got home from school. It literally took me 1 full hour to walk home. I hate living so far away sometimes.
Gaufre au fromage blanc + glace à la vanille + home made nutella.
Monday 13th December 2010. This is what life in Paris should actually be like. I hasten to add that I'm not solely talking about the fabulous hot chocolate pictured, but my entire day.
I woke up at 6.15, having only managed about 4 hours sleep but somehow feeling full of la joie de vivre; more specifically, la joie de vivre à Paris!
This week's lessons are all focussed on Christmas and, as such, I'm doing more or less the same with every class, so it's been nice and easy. I spent my lunch break in Saint Michel on a very successful Christmas shopping trip (which did include two presents to myself!)
After work I met Eden for more Christmas shopping and spent lots of money on my beautiful little girls. They're worth it though and I've missed them a lot this term. I'm really looking forward to seeing their beaming faces next week.
We stopped in a cafe to warm up and had these fantastic hot chocolates, which came as a cup of chocolate fondant and a jug of hot milk for mixing. It was totally luxurious and a brilliant way to warm up whilst discussing our favourite topics: Paris, travelling, feminism, politics and of course "George Osborne and his ridiculous team of bastards."
Ally came to join us so we continued the shopping, before stopping for a jug of wine in a very cute restaurant which was full of pretty Christmas decorations. I'm feeling good about life again, not to mention so blessed to be surrounded by such lovely friends. Plus tomorrow I have a two hour lie-in!!
Paris truly is a city full of surprising twists and turns, with adventures around every corner. It's totally unpredictable, but I'm gradually learning to embrace the unexpected and I wouldn't trade this in for anything.
Hot chocolate taken at www.asantecoffeeshop.co.uk and the chocolate tasted yummy!
This is the first time I've shot any form of food or drink but it was fun.

These are from my finalized recipe for hot chocolate cupcakes. I used a toasted meringue topping instead of marshmallows. =)
Atlanta's brief brush with the snowpocolypse is melting away. Today, I've been doing my part to help it along.
Catching up with Sunday's picture of the day: my hot chocolate at Fiore Caffe. We went with Steve's parents (and Evan) before lunch. It was their last full day in town, but I actually didn't take very many pictures.
OurDailyChallenge "Sweet & Sour"
For a household that works hard to control our sugar intake, this is a telling photo. Although the challenge is Sweet and Sour, you can tell from the title of my shot and looking at it, that I could find lots of sweets but only one sour. I guess that say something about us as a civilization.
To be fair, the granulated sugar is inly used for our hummimgbird feeders. The hot chocolate and maple syrup were gifts and the rest are used in baking where the quantities are all used in significantly reduced measure.
OH, and no I don't work for or own shared in Redpath! But maybe I shoud?
Megan chose scones to bake today, so we made mini ones at her request. I had mine with a hot chocolate as its the only hot drink I will entertain and I needed a hot drink for my tribute shot to **pip**
I love the light in **pip**'s photo, it was far too dull today to create the same effect
I've still got probably a week's worth of Scotland scenery photos to upload, but how about a little break now for food photos?
Here's mom enjoying a hot chocolate with whipped cream in Portree.
