Cooked Pan-Seared Salmon with a tangy thai sauce, served with a trio of diced fruits (avocado, mango & green apples) for lunch.
I was tired of beef and chicken - I wanted pasta - so I made a cheese lasagna, but them I decided it needed some meat, so I added chopped clams along with the tomatoes, oregano, and basil.
It was surprisingly good and since I did not spice it up like I usually do, I let the dogs have a little.
Hearty bowl of shirataki noodles with enoki mushrooms, pea shoots and tomatoes.
Too much cake and too much alcohol = too much schmish.... For the past couple of weeks, I've been challenging myself by eating out less and eating a lot healthier, but still having tasty and appetizing meals that don't scream "DIET!"
January 1, 2011. First dish of the year. Made a very simple sautéed carrots to go with some left over beef stew on a cold day.

Honey Mustard Chicken + asparagus.
Sweet and tangy. So simple to make and tastes so good. I have a feeling I'll be making this dish very often for weeknight dinners.
5-grain yeast bread. Contains cooked quinoa, grits, brown rice, groats, whole wheat and white flour, and honey. Nice texture. And yummy too. It was an experiment.

i made the rice and mapo tofu at home, then layered them in boxes from the container store. it makes a perfect container for lunch time leftovers.
All the stuff for the Amaretto bundt cake. A very moist tasty cake that is easy to through together pretty quick.

I knew I had to buy this bookmark the second I saw it -deadringer for Orlando. Here it is marking the page for the stewed beef recipe in Jamie Oliver's "Cook with Jamie". It just makes me smile every time I see it.

Made stuffed portobello mushrooms with minced meat, seasoning & onion bits and made a burger with it together with sliced onions, grilled aubergines and some greens.
Jen spent over a day in the kitchen preparing Thanksgiving dinner at home. Cornish game hens, fresh green bean casserole (with onions and mushrooms), creamed corn, rolls, and mixed greens (with mandarin oranges and walnuts). Not pictured, homemade pumpkin pie (with homemade crust).
I made a rub of brown sugar, red curry, cayenne pepper, crushed dried hot peppers, salt, black pepper, and paprika. I used a hot skillet with a little olive oil - 3 minute per side. Steak was medium rare, glazed and spicy hot. Just like I like. Just like my doctor would slap me silly for eating!
These guys have an almost stoic look about them on their plates. They'd been caught only about 5 hours prior to cooking, so they were absolutely fresh and delicious. Thank goodness extricating the meat is such a chore - I probably would have eaten all 5 of them in one sitting if it hadn't been for that.
