With dates and honey dates. Cooked it up earlier after I found lotus root in the Asian market. This is the stuff my mom used to make all the time.

Wendy Hutton's Food of Love. Got the vote of approval from the family - every piece got polished off.
Fig season, and we’ve got a bowlful from our tree. Cut up a dozen of them, along with some fresh cut rosemary and minced onion, macerated in port and sherry vinegar. Cook with pork chops in a port cream sauce.
I always make this with enough brown rice that it is more like a stew than a soup...also includes lemon, chicken, carrots, onion, celery and dill.

If you've been following me, you'll know that I love wings and I've been cooking them all different ways, mostly in my air fryer over the last few months.
This time I tossed them in a Spicy Honey BBQ sauce and dressed them with onions and sesame seeds. It was delicious!

Roasted brocc, epic vegan mac and cheese by Corine, homemade eggless pasta, and Moscow mule cocktails. Not pictured for dessert: vegan matcha mousse. Hell yesss.
Tomato soup, from scratch using vine ripe tomatoes, home made bread to build the sandwich, an evening snack is served.
Mama took a lesson from Tilda on this one, adding some home fries with cheese, drizzled with the juices from the chicken. It was terrific, but I still think Matilda's is better. Part of the explanation for that may be that Mama uses mature wild hens bought from a local market. They have a dark, somewhat chewy flavor. Matilda uses good ol' steroid-addled, fatty, chemically-altered, genetically-engineered American chicken. Vegeta, by the way, is a sort of all-purpose Eastern European spice. Think of it as a Lawry's Seasoning Salt kind of thing. It's loaded with MSG... and delicious.
