October 3: In a Row
Maybe this picture could apply to some other themes too:
December 19: Holiday Bokeh (Bokeh in Background, Gift ribbon and pine branch on the left side)
October 31: Spooky and Frightful (Do you see the malicious grin of the mushroom?)
January 18: Vegetable(s) (Mushroom & Zucchini on the right side)
Do you have some other suggestions? H(X)MM! :-)
He looks elfin to me anyways. I liked the lighting DOF and Bokeh on this one. Im really excited . Im getting a nice camera for Christmas so these will be the last pictures Im taking with my PowerShot . Ready to have a Nikon back in my hands again. Have a Happy and joyous holiday everyone.

José Feliciano, Feliz Navidad, the Christmas staple from 1970.
The width of this shot of this 45-rpm single is just under three inches (76.2mm).
From 29 January - Flame. Here's wishing everyone a very Happy New Year for 2019 and to many more Happy Macro Mondays! Oh, and a bit of Holiday Bokeh from last week's theme for good measure!
Theme: Holiday Bokeh
Bokeh...this word has been tickling my curiosity for quite some time. I am ever so grateful for the reading materials, a wonderful Christmas gift. So much to learn....But it has been a lot of fun deliberitaly creating some bokeh. Indeed I lost myself in the Bokeh zone quite some <3 HMM
A pair of angels has been passed from my grandma, to my mom, and now to me. I will display them every Christmas.
I decided to embrace the cliche's for this week's MM theme 'holiday bokeh' . So here we have:
- Bokeh circles
- Lego minifigs
- Starwars
All mixed up in to one festive image!
HMM to all and for the weekend ahead: happy holidays!
For Macro Monday's theme of the week :"Holiday bokeh".
This is not an indoors Christmas tree but a "picea pungens glauca globosa" in the garden with the morning light. We've had grey weather since I took the photo;
Happy Macro Mondays !
The only kiss with no strings attached. Ok, maybe one. Taken for Macro Monday's theme Holiday Bokeh. Merry Christmas friends and thank you for the visit. Happy Macro Monday!
Monday, December 24 _ Macro Mondays theme:
“Holiday Bokeh”
In A Charlie Brown Christmas, I love the final rendition of Jingle Bells that Schroeder plays for Lucy.
I had great fun getting this photograph. With Christmas lights in the garden I thought I could use them somehow. Once I had run a length of string from the garage to the house with a few different Christmas decorations on I was good to go. Of the decorations I tried, this glass star was the hardest to get standing out from the bokeh due to the lights refracting in the glass. Happy holidays everyone and HMM.

In our household our hearts are turning towards Christmas and the greatest story ever told. My younger sister is a talented singer/songwriter and on her latest album (a Christmas album - check it out on iTunes: apple.co/21GQ524) she shared a song she wrote by the name "Luke Chapter 2". I had that song in mind when I thought of the concept of this image. The Bible opened to Luke Chapter 2 and the story of the birth of Jesus with the lights of Christmas blazing in bokeh beyond. I tried a few different approaches, but settle on this SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4 lens with a single Metz 64 AF-1 flash and a Lite Genius Super Scoop II defuser a ways behind the camera so that the light would be soft by the time it hit the bright white pages of the Bible. The end result is pretty cool, I think, and is almost straight out of camera.
Technical Information: Canon EOS 6D, SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4, Processed in Adobe Lightroom CC, Photoshop CC, and Alien Skin Exposure X (use code "dustinabbott" to get 10% off)
