The entire bear is 3 inches tall, so I figure this is approximately 1.5 inches of him.

The 52 in 2016 Challenge for Week 50: Bokeh

I love bokeh, especially with the Christmas tree.

Also submitting for macro monday. So Happy Macro Monday!

Macro Mondays #Holiday Bokeh

unbearbeitet, just as taken

Shot for Macro Mondays, theme "Holiday Bokeh".

A very small glass bowl with a miniature Santa in it, shot with the Christmas Tree in the background. The Bokeh is SOOC, just (heavy) cropping.

Papa Noel sends his best wishes to the Macro Mondays group on Flickr. He wishes you all a Merry Christmas and good light in the New Year.

The theme for this week is holiday bokeh so I chose a Santa candle in front of the out of focus lights on our Christmas tree.

This week we get to redo one of our favorite themes during the year in Macro Mondays. I actually missed out on my favorite that is Holiday Bokeh so I got another chance today :)

This is one of my favourite ornaments on my Christmas tree.

"Every gift which is given, even though it be small, is in reality great, if it is given with affection." – Pindar

The Advent wreath has a diameter of 45-50mm (less than two inches). That's real fir, wrapped around a wire ring, held with 0.3mm copper wire. The candles are made from a shashlik spit with 2.5mm (tenth of an inch) diameter. Drilled holes in the tops, glued a thread, painted it red and dripped candle wax all over (especially over my fingers. ouch!)

I needed it for yesterday's Toy Project photo, this is just a bit of active recycling.

"The stockings were hung by the chimney with care...."

I put fresh Cedar branches in Karl's homemade stocking, which is hanging on our mantle, over our pellet stove. Thank you so much for all your 'faves' and 'comments'. I love HMM!

and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.

Okay i know...Its been done a gazillion times, BUT not by me. I just had to try and use the Christmas tree for my lights. I adore the colors and although it is so simple i just had to share the warmth, joy, and fun with all of you.

2016 wasn't the greatest but still had it's good moments.

I wish to everybody 2017 to be much nicer, full of joy and happiness.

I forgot I'd purchased polyethylene non-recyclable glitter for this project. Inspired by #MacroMondays and the theme "Holiday Bokeh", I tried a macro of a tiny (less than 1 in/ 2.54 cm) spring from a ballpoint pen.

I rather like the unexpected reflection of the gold spring in the glitter.

A soft box lighted on two sides by standing Photogenic StudioMax lights triggered by an off-camera SB 800 strobe at 1/64 power. The base is a small piece of black reflective welder's glass.

Thanks for a fun year!

Green and Holiday bokeh.

Definitely a challenge this one and not as good as I would have liked but ran out of time :-( Something fun to practice in the future though, thanks for the pointer! HMM

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s celebration. Have a fabulous week rain or shine! :)

Monday is a holiday here in US to observe Presidents’ day so I have a 3-day-weekend. It’s always nice to have an extra day of play and rest :)

Strobist Info: Light using two moonlights. One from the left with a soft box, mostly angled away. Another on the right, pointed toward a wall for bounce.

Will Santa be leaving you lots of presents--or will you get a stocking full of coal. Have you been naughty--or nice?
