Svartifoss waterfall, Iceland
Columns like these form in a lava flow that cools very slowly, which allows it to form these hexagonal shapes.

Not sure how many I have... probably just over 400.
So far I've used Make Life, Tweet Tweet, Migration, Verna, Plume, Oz, Freebird, Love U, Boutique, Hunky Dory, plus some pieces from my scrap bin. I have squares cut from Frolic and Snippets that still need to be used.
reverse side of a tiered hexagon, I folded up the edges but haven't yet come up with a method to lose the two panels of extra paper. I'll probably leave it "as is" and not fiddle with it any more unless I have a reason to fold another one.
Inspired by Feather's post to get on the other side of the lens.. and show off the new t-shirt I made :)
What's a lemonade coaster? It's like a regular coaster, but bigger for a pitcher of cold lemonade, dripping with lovely condensation!

Working on creating the character I have in Second Life in a more "lifelike" format. A steep learning curve but I am having a blast!
Hexagon socks, from Think Outside the Sox. Knitpicks Felici yarn.
This is what the socks look like a year later, most recently having been worn a few times without being washed. The heels are felted, and the toe decreases have sort of laddered.

Hexagonal tessellation
Material : kraft paper
Creator : Fredrik Owesen
You all are now thinking : Mélisande reverse-engineered Fredrik's work.
I never did this.
Here is the true story :
I'm a fan of Fredrik's work, and 2 months ago, when he uploaded it, I dreamed to copy this wonderful piece. But I was unable to guess the first clue how to do (Please don't ask for the endless list of things I had tried to reverse-engineer without success, it would be embarrassing...).
Now I've folded some Mawelucky's models (she was so kind as to send me tutorials for), and I'm very enthousiastic about her 3D triangle.
I was playing with this little shape, folding it here and there on a sheet, without any preconception, suddenly feeling I was "creating" something....Only when I saw the bigger triangles on reverse side I was able to identify Fredrik's pattern.
This event really is brightening my day !
It is proof that shortest way from Switzerland to Norway is via Brazil, at least on map of friendship.
