2" hexagons, randomly pieced from stash and WIP fabrics. Loving the paper piecing!

Yellow butter cake with vanilla buttercream and vanilla fondant. Decorations are fondant/gumpaste.

I've been steadily working on the hexagons all the while. It's a slowly growing beast.

What's a lemonade coaster? It's like a regular coaster, but bigger for a pitcher of cold lemonade, dripping with lovely condensation!

One of the first flowers I've made for my hexagon quilt.

And now something completely different. Old fashioned yet vibrant in a very Today palette. I love doing them in odd moments. My life is odd moments. What else is there?

my beginning of a hexagon handstitched journey.

This a tessellation of hexagons that are arranged on a square(nearly) grid. The centers of the hexagons form the grid.

A long time in the making.

This tutorial was from the amazing site abduzeedo.com/

I'm trying to read and do tutorials from various sites on a constant basis now, just for my own learning sake. I will always try to mix them up a bit and add or subtract something to make my outcome somewhat different (experimenting is fun). For example, this picture I used octagon instead of a hexagon. I also made it a little more cluttered and took it easy with the light flares.

If I had to change anything... maybe just a bit less cluttered.

Thoughts?
