I'm debating making a hexagonal shaped quilt. Laying this out helps me see what colors I have too many of (orange) and what I need more of (blues/greens/cools).
This is not a final layout, just another time-consuming test. :) I tried to group them together by warm vs cool, and I think I like them like this, less chaos.
I finally finished my hexagon park quilt that is a gift for my brother and his bride. I love the way it turned out!
Hexagon rose block for alysowl9 (Alice) for July in Bee Scrappy and Scrap Happy Bee quilt bee groups. Imitating the Florence DeLattre rose (although mine is a darker purple than the real thing).

A beautiful hexagon is formed in the cross bedding on the side of one of the mounds.
The White Pocket Wilderness on the Paria Plateau is located within the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument. The layers of White and Red Navajo sandstone appear to have solidfied while being contorted in various strange and interesting patterns.
The area is not a permitted area, but it is a long drive along some roads which in wet conditions are pretty slick and in dry conditions, very sandy... We didn't see a soul for the entire afternoon that we were in the area.
Shot downtown Guelph last week before the GPC meeting. f/5.6 close focuses @ 0.35m gives some really nice hexagonal bokeh of light, pretty cool.

This version has 15 spaces between molecule centers and is completed with hexagon flowers between them.

A special commission from the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art. An amazing paper cut framed in a hexagonal frame and held between two pieces of glass to create a shadow on the wall its hung against. Very happy with how this one turned out.
A little look at the hexagons I have sewn together so far. I'm calling this my 5 year project because I know it will take me forever at my current pace.
I may have finished these last month because I thought the deadline was early May! I was going to make a couple of the purple-and-turquoise ones for me, but I got kind of burnt out on crochet.

Finished my "Falling Hexagons" today. I used dotty fleece for the back and had fun going around for a photo shoot today.
