I was asked for some help, so...
this is exactly what happened between steps 2 and 3 in my tutorial to Kermit polypouch (sure, it could be done differently, but this is how i do it:)

I decided after my Quilt Guild meeting that I would try this as long as I purchased the special cool ruler. It finally arrived yesterday, so I was able to catch up on week on and two. Wow, what a difference the correct ruler can make. I used the Martinique by 3 Sisters for Moda Fabrics.

Fussy cutting Hexagon template based on Melanie's tutorial: www.texasfreckles.com/2010/04/hexagon-fussy-cut-template....
After you secure your last thread with a quilter's knot, you're done the binding! It should leave you with hexagon-ish edges and should be invisibly secured to the back of the quilt.
This is just a small piece of patchwork that is still waiting to be finished (aren't they all?!) The mustardy yellow material came from a silky blouse of my mother's that she donated, and I happily chopped up. I can see a bit of skirt in this piece, a bit of a blouse I cut up, a section of a dress I found in a charity shop, plus some oddments of Kaffee Fassett fabric.
I'm going to make some solid dark green hexagons and white inside/dark green outside ones and put them together in an afghan.

I wasn't sure what to do with the hexagon 'flower' I made at the time, but I ended up sewing it to this plain t-shirt. I have a bunch of plain t-shirts that I never seem to wear so I've decided to start dressing them up a little. I'd say this first attempt went well! I'm really happy with how it turned out!
My Hexagonal Rose is finished :-D
I changed the closing of the base, now it's a little bit rounder and it looks more like the Kawasaki Rose.
I don't know if the pictures or the descriptions help, but I hope so ^.^
First you need a 1:64 trigonal grid and a hexagonal Twist which is shiffted (don't know if it's the right word for it) about 90° against the grid. The hexagon will be at the inside.
1a + b Then you've to fold the creases as shown.
1b The inside of the rose
2a +b These little creases helps to shape the rose
2a the Outside of the rose
I designed and created this hexagon quilt for a class that I will be teaching at Quilter's Way in Acton, MA. I used the Hex N More ruler to make the hexagons.
blogged... aquiltingjewel.blogspot.com/2013/01/finish-friday-modern-...
Fabric: Kona cotton, Quilt Blocks, Simply Color, Cuzco, Good Fortune and more.
Thread: So Fine! for the hexagons and Aurifil for the background.
I found a couple more photos I never posted of the afghan "in progress". Whenever the cooler weather finally gets here, I need to work on weaving in all the remaining loose ends, and then I should take a few more photos of the whole thing... (With decent lighting, for a change!)
I dunno what's going on here. I wanted make some hexagons and put my creations inside.
Maybe it would make a neat idea in a website. Probably try that later. For now I have hexagons with some of my favorite creations.
