Yes, it will tessellate, but that doesn't mean that it wants to.

Toulouse, France. 28 May, 2016.

A couple of hexagons I found in the garage.

For a change I used the Macro function on a point and shoot.

There's 350 some hexagons made for this blanket.

It took I think 5 months.

It fits a queen size bed and it's for my mom for Christmas.

I only had 3 yards of the bird and flower print fabric, so I pieced the extra triangles into strips and added them to the back, the pink was from my stash.

This suit is the 2nd of my suits with textured PU-coating, after the carbon suit. Really an amazing effect with a shimmering surface that changes depending on the angle of the light.

The coating is air-tight and sucks to the skin, which feels even tighter, but I had to pinch holes in the mask to breath. With my face-shield underneath the breathing is OK. Overall a great suit!

Hope you like!

Here's a shot I took last night, of one of my pets.

Princess Hexagon.

I love her <3

I havent posted many photos of my rabbits, because I didn't have enough light in my house to catch a good shot of such fast critters....

which leads me to the fun fact that I just got an external flash in the mail yesterday! yayyyy :D

So I guess you'll be seeing a lot more bunny photos in the future :)

woven strips of copy paper

Love the colours but the edging is wrong...hopefully I'll do a better job next time

Closeup of my 30's fabric charm quilt

Strasbourg, France. 28 December, 2016.

I added white trianges at the top and bottom so I wouldn't have to do all that funky-angled binding ;)

Ok. I'm totally hooked:-) I think this is such a nice thing to do and I think it's a good way to learn to crocket. I'm a total newbie here.

I love this photo, love seeing the hex's nestled in my new bag :o)

((blogged))

I usually have a few long-term projects on the go (projects that end up taking me multiple years), so I wanted to make a 'quick' project. Someone gave me the striped navy blue fabric and I didn't know what to do with it. This winter I realized that it would make a great bag, and the blue would go so well with red, pink and orange. All but one these hexagon fabrics is Kaffe Fasset.

I handstitched the hexagons over the course of a month or two. For the bag I followed a tutorial called Simple Lined Tote by Felicity Quilts, on the 'OCD: Obsessive Crafting Disorder' blog. I changed the dimensions a bit (like making the straps longer). I will probably make a few other adjustments if I make another bag. The gussets at the bottom were new to me. Not sure I would do it that way again.

I hand appliqued the heart to the bag, then used red thread to essentially quilt each separate hexagon.

One of the best parts is that I only used my stash (including the thread) and scraps to make it.

I designed this model for the cover illustration of my father’s book on nanoparticles. It represents the structure of SBA-15, a type of mesoporous silica. My first thought when designing the model was to extend my older Hexagonal Honeycomb by making the tubes longer, but I reckoned the model would use a huge number of units, and decided to design something new from scratch. The Hexagonal Honeycomb II unit I came up with produces tubes of the right proportions, from just a single unit per tube (18 tubes + 72 connectors).

Tried to do a short tutorial on hexagon's interface for Hexagon by daz3D. ITs free till march 31st. Its a very simple and straight forward sculpting program which I use mainly up till now. The best feature is its built in sculpty plugin, which makes sculpting for secondlife super easy. Am not very good with tutorials but i hope this helps those that are trying to learn :)
