The body strobe can be used more than 2:1. here I was at the limit, the lense is covering the low part of the photo from the strobe, and petals are covering the high parts :)

Assemble the half hexagons into vertical or horizontal rows, fabric placement is crucial to give the look of full hexagons, so a design wall where patches can be arranged is useful. Join the rows to form the quilt.
Today I have been travelling with many ferryboats. That gave me time to sew these two cuties. The whole quilt in the background, about 2000 hexies 1/4" size.

I started this project almost a year ago, and finally finished! Crocheted in Biggan Design wool, and using Lucy's (Attic 24) hexagon how-to pattern. The pillow measures approx. 60cm x 30cm, and I finished the ends with some pompom trim.

I made this sewing pouch on custom order and unlike mine, I added an elastic for spools of thread at the bottom. Inside there are 3 hand-quilted pockets, including one for a small pair of scissors; and a small hexagon flower-shaped pincushion.
The measurements are 7" (18 cm) tall and 9 1/2" (24 cm) wide.
Cushion cover for partner. Lots of gray, and aqua, and hexies. This cover is for a 20 inch cushion.

i'm late to the party, i know... i've been wanting to try hexagons for awhile and i've been wanting to make a mug rug after seeing so many cute ones on flickr. so here we are.
this has been a slow hand-sewing project that's been keeping me company for far too long. but now it's finished! i think there are going to be more of these in my future. particularly since i am blessed with a boss who regularly makes chocolate chip cookies in our office toaster oven at teatime :)
ps it's hard to tell scale here... this is about 6"x8". washed and a little rumply.
