A Macro Mondays submission on the topic "hexagons". It turns out that soap bubbles do not like forming hexagons, but there are a few in this image (with pentagons etc)

yay! coordinating hexagon pillows!

Blogged here.

Netting around neck of perfume bottle. Reshoot of a subject from 2021 to focus on hexagons.

I started this project almost a year ago, and finally finished! Crocheted in Biggan Design wool, and using Lucy's (Attic 24) hexagon how-to pattern. The pillow measures approx. 60cm x 30cm, and I finished the ends with some pompom trim.

I made this bag for a fundraising raffle (in support of a local nonprofit). The weather has been super cold and crappy lately, and I ran out of time to fuss over the pictures as I usually do. I didn't bother with my tripod, just used a high ISO and said 'good enough!'.

The dark grey fabric is wool or a wool blend. The plaids are from cotton shirts that I cut up. All of these fabrics are from thrift stores.

I hand pieced the hexagons using the English paper piecing method. Each side measures 1 inch. After I removed the paper, I machine quilted the hexagon panel onto a scrap of muslin. Then I trimmed it square and pieced the wool around it.

I'm very proud of how it turned out! The plaids mesh really well and pop quite nicely against the grey.

and I made some hexagonal chocolate cakes.

The body strobe can be used more than 2:1. here I was at the limit, the lense is covering the low part of the photo from the strobe, and petals are covering the high parts :)

Here is from where the black comes.

Assemble the half hexagons into vertical or horizontal rows, fabric placement is crucial to give the look of full hexagons, so a design wall where patches can be arranged is useful. Join the rows to form the quilt.

Today I have been travelling with many ferryboats. That gave me time to sew these two cuties. The whole quilt in the background, about 2000 hexies 1/4" size.

Finished the hexagon top. 12 rows of 93 hexs each. Took about 10 months to English paper piece, then hand sew every seam.
