The helping hand in Corona crisis,..... Regal Princess.
Stuck at sea for weeks ! A Cruiseship of the Holland America Group came to the port of Rotterdam on may 6th 2020, to bring back a crew of 1000 people that where stuck at sea. Due to the Corona-crisis, it wasn't possible to fly back home, so the Holland America Group was doing the repatriation by their selves. Here we see the ship at the Wilhelminakade in Rotterdam, (Kop van Zuid) the Netherlands.
Wekenlang vast op zee, nu per cruiseschip aangekomen in Rotterdam.

Een cruiseschip vol werknemers van de Holland America Group is woensdagmiddag 6 mei 2020, aangekomen in de haven van Rotterdam. De circa duizend bemanningsleden zaten wekenlang vast op zee.
Door de coronacrisis was het niet mogelijk om met het vliegtuig naar huis te gaan. Aan boord was er geen werk te verzetten, omdat er nauwelijks cruisereizen zijn. Onder de teruggekeerde bemanningsleden zijn veertien Nederlanders.
De Regal Princess blijft tot vrijdag aan de Wilhelminakade in Rotterdam liggen. De komende weken zullen er meer van dit soort repatriëringsschepen aankomen.

but coordinating a vehicle has become
elusive. It looks like tomorrow 4 sure.

Even though the storm has passed, the recovery from Hurricane Matthew continues. Many of us were extremely lucky to receive only minor damage but not all of our neighbors were as fortunate. As part of the effort to help, Team Rubicon has been working with recruits from the Virginia Beach Fire Department in this home in Windsor Woods to facilitate their recovery.

In Greece they have mercilessly forced me into a perpetual state of deprivation since 2020. Although I rely on online donations to survive, the support I have received so far hasn’t been enough to provide proper nutrition and prevent possible starvation.
Both sides of my big placard are now filled with marks indicating the number of days I have been forced to starve outside the UNHCR office since after the placement of my sixth shelter in front of their office on August 31st, 2021. There is no help available to me in Greece, be it from the purported Humanitarian and Human Rights Organizations in the country or the civil society.
Years of forced starvation in Greece have been taking a toll on my health and body every day. Despite being 37-years-old, currently, I weigh less than 30 kilos. The pictures captured on June 09th, 2023, depicting my emaciated body, are truly terrifying.

Here are 5 different ways to enhance lips in a photograph, depending on what results you want to achieve.
A: Plain
B: Enhance richness, but not shine.
1. Select the lips (I suggest using the Path tool and a small amount of Feathering). If the edge of the lips is too well-defined and sharp it will look unnatural, so the feathering is necessary.
2. Create an adjustment layer - the selection will automatically become the mask. Use a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer and increase saturation and darkness, OR use a Levels or Curves adjustment layer and pull in the darker and midtone values.
C: Shimmery lipstick.
Use 2 adjustment layers.
1. Using a lip-shaped selection, create a Levels adjustment layer and darken the area by pulling in the dark and midtone values.
2. Create a second Levels adjustment layer that pulls in the whites and lightens overall; set the layer to Screen or Lighten mode. This layer should only mask in the highlight areas where you want glossiness. Try to keep some striations to keep it a little more natural.
D: Glossy lips.
1. Create one lip-shaped Levels adjustment layer to darken the darks and midtones.
2. Create a second layer set to Lighten mode, and paint highlights on in white. Making the highlights slightly "blobby" with a small amount of blur will give a more liquid glossy look.
E. Dark matte lipstick.
1. Duplicate lips onto another layer, set to Multiply.
F. Glossy dark lips:
1. Duplicate lips onto a new layer, set layer to Multiply.
2. Create a new layer, set to Lighten or Luminosity mode, paint white highlights.
3. Duplicate highlights layer, give a Gaussian blur, reduce opacity of layer.
Not shown: You can also experiment with the Plastic Wrap filter to create juicy lips - remember to set the layer mode to Lighten.
Was testing out some new "helping-hand" rigs I bought, as well as some lighting, and came up with this. Parts of this image you will see in my upcoming film (coming September!).

Editing Steps
In Lightroom, adjusted white balance and exposure, applied Dawn Gordon's Tire Swing preset, cropped to bring her left eye to about the upper righthand third (thus removing the bit of hair that went askew), added a brush stroke set to Iris Enhance to both eyes to brighten and upped the clarity/contrast.
Imported to PSE 8 and added the two texture layers adjusting the size/opacity and placement of each until I liked them. Applied a Layer Mask to mask out the textures over her face/hair/coat.
