I often wonder how people manage to bike around on all our snowy and icy pathways, but how about doing it on a unicycle?!

Here's my favorite shot from yesterday's stroll over to the Forks, and as expected there were hundreds of people out enjoying the -4 day. Below you'll see some of the sights, including alot of people out for a skate, some at the curling bonspiel and some just, well......enjoying themselves!!

couldn't resist posting it in sepia... ; ))

Moving Vietnam Wall Memorial in Dacono, CO. I didn't plan this shot, and was surprised when I found it when I got home. It really sums up the day at the wall for me, the emotion and power of the Wall is all there. If it comes to your town someday, go see it.

52 weeks of 2016

Week #1 ~ Every Journey Starts with a ...

Category: Creative

1st week of a new 52 week project. I have an idea to try for an overall concept of connectivity to run through this project. We are all connected to the earth, the environment (built and natural), and to each other. Going to try and show this each week, if I can!

Best of luck to everyone in the group on their journeys through the next 52 weeks.

Together, it's much better. Under the Cherry Tree it is so idyllic and Beautiful

- FYI -

This photo was taken at The Dog Palace

about 24 + hours before Mama had her

first and only litter of puppies. And yes

Mr Rocky was one of the lucky puppies.

Also FYI, Mama has been spayed too ;-)

Today will be spent gathering and preparing

for another run out to the temple in the early

morning. Like in the very dark time of morning.

Travel time usually starts at 5AM or just before.

When I arrive at the temple all the animals are

full of mischief and real hungry. This is good ;-)

There will be extra special food packed just for

Mr Little Larry , Blondie and of course Miss Molly.

One kilo of carrots for Mr Ed is also on board plus

a new pack of special fish food for all the guppies.

And lets not forget all the usual stuff that finds it's

way onto the scooter and ends up out at the temple.

OK -

Soon as this is uploaded there's another job that must

take place real quick. Two funny dogs are bugging me

for a trip out to the mud field in the scooter sidecar ;-0~

Upon our return they get fed, see how that works out ?

Alright time to go, catch y'all on the rebound ;-)~~~

People, forms, lives arranged in a certain way bring us together in love.

Have you guys seen GATTACA? it's a fairly old movie starring Ethane Hawke, Uma Thurman and Jude Law... I just remembered it suddenly and incorporated it's theme to this photo. No one and nothing can ever exceed the power, determination and strength of the human spirit.

So, Never give up. Never!!!!!!!! LOL

Have a Blessed Day!

This is my sisters hand. She is a EXCELLENT beekeeper and is helping me learn how to also be a beekeeper with my hive. The more I am around these special insects the more they amaze me! They fly 15 miles per hour. You will not outrun them.ha ha. Another tip I have learned..do not eat a banana when you are going to be around your hive and do not wear axe cologne. They do not like the smell and chances are..you will get stung. It is fascinating to know that bees can remember faces! The Honey Bees are so interesting and so necessary in our world for so many things. The Honey Bees are disappearing and it is a GREAT concern for many beekeepers and scientists around the world.

Today can be a healthy unusual day for you -- and for others -- if you take time to give someone a smile . . . to express a word of kindness . . . to lend a helping hand to someone in need . . . to write a note of gratitude . . . to give a word of encouragement to someone who is temporarily overcome with problems . . . to share a portion of your material possessions with others.”

Mama saying thank you for all the support

so many have sent over time.

Supplies, food, medicines and on going

medical bills for all the temple dogs.

Yesterday there was 37,200 views which was

quite a surprise indeed ............... ;-)

I don't recall ever getting that kind of response

in the past. I believe Tinker Bells photo going

into "explore" had a lot to do with that.

Recently you've heard me describe a situation

here in Thailand that's gone from epidemic to a

rabies virus endemic alert ! We are under attack.

The province we live in is one of the hot spots as

is other provinces that surround us, this is not good!

6 people have died of rabies sense the first of the year.

3 more people were bitten Friday which was 2 days ago.

Now along with Mama, her crew, The Hooligans and BTP

I must get down on bended knee and grovel for help too.

Not for me, but for all the temple dogs who are right now

in need of their rabies updates. Each must be taken into the

dog doctor separately . That means a double round trip to

The Monkey Temple each time a dog goes in.A long process.

Of the 37,200 viewers not one helped with a donation ?

So I'm reaching out to you now, "Hello", "Help !"

depends on your help through donations, without

Young Mama up on the roof at The Dog Palace.

As we speak many things are being readied

for tomorrows run to the temple. Plan goes

like this. No# 1 wife will be with me as we

inoculate all the temple dogs with their

monthly medications. Mr Dr Jon and

Dr Mom will be giving shots to

everybody plus checking

for any health issues.

We plan on leaving just after 8AM, why ?

Because there's no way in hell that I will

jeopardize my wife in the crazy traffic

in the dark time. 5AM 4 me is really

no-big-deal cuz I can deal with it.

I may be a young monkey boy with

no brain for thinking but sometimes

a man must know his limitations. And

taking a foolish chance with no# 1 wife

on board just plain isn't going to happen.

Tomorrow will be another very long day.

No# 1 and the nuns will be able to catch

up on all the stuff they jabber on about.

All the dogs will be cared for plus all the

temple animals will receive their food ;-)~

Abandoned Abused Street Dogs.

Quick Back Story ...........................

No# 1 and I have returned after a 2 day brake.

We were invited by friends to a birthday party

in a town East of us near the Cambodian border.

By car it's one and a half hours drive, by scooter

double that time plus a little bit more.

By scooter and sidecar triple that time plus a

whole bunch more +++.

Anyway we had a ride in a car so it wasn't so bad.

Didn't even take a camera knowing it would be a

lot of sitting around with kids running everywhere.

And that's exactly what it was, eating, sitting and

watching kids zip around like monkeys ..............;-)

Tomorrow early AM I'll be heading East once again

with scooter/sidecar and food for Mama and Crew.

No big plans, just relax and maybe fix any monkey

damage. And of course document the dogs activities.

No#1 and I are burned out so it's an early night for us.

Tomorrow upon my return I'll answer all the recent

comments.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see y'all tomorrow...... ;-)

When our car broke down on New Years day in Urbandale, Iowa, this couple just happened to stumble upon us. They went way out of their way to help locate a shop that was open, a tow truck company that was open, and even drove us back and forth to our hotel multiple times. It is amazing how generous and helpful these people were to complete strangers. It was this kind of generosity that made our trip that much richer.

Miss Yo-Yo is full of mischief all the time.

Attention was being given to Mr Rocky

when Miss Yo-Yo decided it was her turn.

So here's the reason behind using this photo.

Quite simple actually. No# 1 and other family

members are being taken out to the temple

so they can celebrate a Big Buddha Day.

There will be many people there but

most importantly they want to

spent time with the nuns

and Mr Kind Monk.

Along with the dogs I will be left at home

to diligently supervise myself. Oxymoron ?

Anyway it's 8:AM and they are getting ready

to go right now. So, I must report to no# 1,

snap a smart salute and see them off.

I was given last minute instructions

to behave and do no work until

they all have returned. Then

they will monitor my every

movement. Don't ya

just love it ;-)---

Mamas still seeing the dog doctor but as of

today she will start going every-other day...

Her wounds still look quite gruesome but no

infection has started in any of them.

Real nasty & painful lacerations cover much of

her body.No blood was leaking from any of them

today which is a good sign. She is standing, moving

and walking about on her own.Another real good sign.

This photo was taken in the bingo room just before we

left for the dog clinic. She's still covered with bandages

and yes the monkey head pajamas are still being worn.

But, upon our return she not only had been re-bandaged

but she also was sporting a washed blue rabbit set of PJ's

No# 1 is constantly in contact with the nuns who keep a close

eye on Mama, as does her son Rocky. Tomorrow is my day off

which means Boney Boy and I will be out in the scooter/sidecar

doing resupplies for all the same same stuff we use daily...........;-)

I thought this weeks theme would have been difficult for me to think of a concept, but I came up with something very quickly. For those who don't recognize it, this concept is based of a scene from the movie Labyrinth, with the "helping" hands.

This edit was crazy and took forever, which is why I am posting it late today. I made sure I got it done by today though, I don't want to miss a week in this project.

This photo still isn't perfect, but I think its somewhat post worthy for my 52 week project. Getting so close to finishing!

Abused, Abandoned, Jungle Dogs.

Alright we're back in business.

Not quite as usual but close ;-)

The last couple of days has been hectic

after a twister came through here leaving

many trees uprooted and roof tiles missing.

There was no ingress or egress due to trees

blocking the road and down power lines which

are on our side of the meter. Meaning it is up to us

to remove all trees and repair all the down power lines.

As dark closed in late last night the last tree crossing the

road was finally removed. This morning one of no# 1's cousins

climbed up on the steep roof and replaced the missing roof tiles.

There's still uprooted trees all over the property.

So, the two wheeled bike was loaded mid-morning and

off I went to take care of Mr Little Larry The Pipsqueak.

Reason for leaving mid-morning is I needed to stop at

the dog clinic to pick up some more stuff. And I also

wanted to sneak into The Dog Palace without the

other dogs knowing I was there. Most likely I'll

be returning early tomorrow morning then

all the animals can be cared for ;-)~

Mid morning means 8:30AM.

Early morning = 4:30AM.

On the way home I also stopped at a place that sells

rain-gear and spent $6 bucks on a new rain coat.

The last one is real old and full of holes plus

the zipper quit working a long time ago.

This photo shows Mr Little Larry eagerly eating some

soft puppy food that is beef chunks an gravy. Hidden

in this concoction is all of his medication. Off to the

right you see frozen rice with a similar mix that

Molly is chewing on. To my left is Blondie

doing the same same with more frozen

rice with kibble an chicken mixed in.

We're up on the third floor roof at The Dog Palace.

There ya go another small slice of jungle life ;-)

Every day we walk the paths we know so well. We never see the cracks in the pavement until they have become a deep hole that we have fallen into. Cold and hungry we begin to reach our hands up for help but pull them back, embarrassed and scared. I'm not Them, I don't drink, don't do drugs, I work hard. How then, can I be Them.

In the dark we sit, happy to give that dented can to the charity of our choice, happy to get rid of that can that sat in the back of the cupboard collecting dust. Happy to say, not today I don't have time.

So subtle it was. The hand giving became the hand reaching. Even looking back I can not see it happen but it did. I am Them.
