I couldn't resist this hand when I saw it in a shop window...the little dried roses are new too, from a local florist.
I finally picked my camera up today. I had to sit down to use it but it's a start. HSoS

I asked Hadley what this little thing is called, and he just responded a gadget. He did show me how it worked to hold something with the magnifying lens on it, but still it is just a gadget. The background of Inspector Gadget made me laugh. Anyone ever see the series or films?

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it's at the end of your arm, as you get older, remember you have another hand: The first is to help yourself, the second is to help others. Audrey Hepburn.
Audrey Hepburn (born Audrey Kathleen Ruston; 4 May 1929 – 20 January 1993) was a British actress and humanitarian. Recognised as both a film and fashion icon, she was ranked by the American Film Institute as the third-greatest female screen legend from the Golden Age of Hollywood, and was inducted into the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame.
In the 1950s, Hepburn narrated two radio programmes for UNICEF, re-telling children's stories of war.[88] In 1989, Hepburn was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF. On her appointment, she stated that she was grateful for receiving international aid after enduring the German occupation as a child, and wanted to show her gratitude to the organisation. You definitely need a helping hand at times as you navigate the mud along the shorelines of the Redlands Coast. I can personally attest to that as I had to be rescued myself a few months ago. I was out photographing a boat scene at Victoria Point about 10 mins before sunset when I accidentally stepped into a hole and sunk down above my knees. I had not intended to photograph that evening so I didn't take my tripod and I didn't take my mobile with me. I had my camera in one hand and couldn't leverage myself out - I was stuck solid and didn't know what to do as there wasn't anyone else around. It was getting dark and I truly began to think I would be there all night. I called out for help several times and no one came but then I saw a man come to check on his boat - my knight in shining armor! He came and rescued me.
It got me to thinking - There may be situations in our lives where we need to cry out for help and be rescued. Sometimes our problems are just too big for just one person to handle so don't be embarrassed to call out for help - there will always be someone willing to lend a helping hand and rescue you.

And now the rest of the story. The pine tree had been a snag for several years woodpeckers frequently came by to drum on it. Sometime in the past year a storm snapped the tree in half and the oak tree was close enough to break the fall down to the ground. When I noticed what had taken place my first thought was of a book I’d read titled The hidden life of trees and that spurred the title of this photo.
