I am looking for advice on places to get quality prints at good prices... whether it is ok to order from someplace (where???) on the internet that is noted for quality nature prints, or better to look more locally. I live aways from the big city of Portland with lots of options!
How about the Flickr printing option... anyone use that and have feedback??/
I SOLD SOME!!! I was so excited, now I want to do more! I suppose I better get a business licence next and keep track of receipts. I am using the money from this sale to get some mats and prints, so I can put some in local fairs this next month...
Also wondering about any leads to online tutorials or info on matting photos so they look really nice for selling..
OR suggestions on good ways to sell prints... places to get postcards or cards made...
anyone have experience with selling through Flickr, how is that working?
Can anyone share info with me on putting signatures on photos?
I know so little!!!!
Oh yeah, and I want to make a good business card ... any suggestions?
She sliped and fall, and he... well, someone suggested he looks threatening due to his covered face. So, what is that outlaw doing to her?

Can anyone decipher the street address in this clipping from Ellis Island? I think it *might* be 8401 Mackinaw, but I'm really unsure.
Below is the full letter from my Slovakian correspondent, whose grandfather lived in South Chicago early in the last century.
----
My grandfather, Andreas Hatala *1871 was in USA for 3 times. He worked at Pullman´s and in some iron works. I guess in US STEEL. He lived at 8533 Buffalo Ave. in Chicago.
I'm not able to read the second address from the Ellis Island notes. Via internet I met Eric who was so kind and helpful and gave me several information and photographs. Thank you, Eric! Nevertheless there are still some questions unanswered:
- Finding out how long he worked while his stays in Chicago. I know the exact dates of his arrivals to USA /Ellis Island/, I don´t know the departure date from the USA. Where can these recordings be found?
- Perhaps there is someone who has the picture of the house at 8533 Buffalo ave., that was demolished in about 2000. I'd love to see the house.
- Could anybody help me translate the address that my grandfather lived at?
- Will I gain the picture of the house at this address?
The dates of his arrivals to the USA: 10.October 1901, 3.Januar 1909, 29.May 1913.
Thank you very much for any information!

Found him in Laredo, TX in early April. Photo taken by Claudia Camano....my research partner. It was a pretty cool morning so I assume this was his "sleeping" pose since I touched him and he didnt move. Later in the he woke up, I took a pic and let him go.
Help from the residents of the Hotel Lotus. The one pictured here is in fact a Bersih participant who happened to have a room at the hotel but many others were just tourists who helped instinctively. It was heartening that the proprietor even connected a large hose and sprayed the crowd below with water to temporarily relieve from the tear gas being fired into the narrow alleyway. I found particularly amusing that a large Arab man was one of the first people to actually start filling plastic bags full of water and throwing it from his hotel window. I guess he must have had prior experience with this sort of thing in his home country.
I feel like I can't build worth anything and whenever I do it comes out like crap. The only thing I can build successfully is a vehicle, but I don't have the extra supply of parts to do that. I feel like I have no skill really. I'm kinda just here on flickr to watch everybody else and what they can do. I'm not much of a customizer, and I'm not great at purist figs. Anything I build comes out in a box and baseplates because I don't have the knowledge of how to build otherwise or the parts for details. Help me out....
Masuleh About this sound pronunciation (help·info) (Persian: ماسوله, also Romanized as Māsūleh and Massulya)[1] is a city in and the capital of Sardar-e Jangal District, in Fuman County, Gilan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 554 individuals from 180 families.[2]
Historical names for the city include Māsalar and Khortāb. It was founded in the 10th century AD.
Masuleh is approximately 60 km southwest of Rasht and 32 km west of Fuman. The village is 1,050 meters above sea level in the Alborz (or Elburz) mountain range, near the southern coast of the Caspian Sea. The village itself has a difference in elevation of 100 meters.

Wednesday Metro employees, customers, community members, and the St. Louis Cardinals Mascot Fredbird celebrated 50 years of MetroBus service to the Bi-State Region. The 1960s tribute band “Ticket to the Beatles” performed as guests arrived. As part of the MetroBus 50th Anniversary celebration, Metro Transit and the St. Louis Cardinals gave away four tickets to the home opener on April 8. Fredbird helped draw the name of the lucky grand prize.

Chuck spoke to him, since I cannot hobble efficiently on my funktified foot. They indeed lost everything they had. They need everything from socks to pots but mostly, money for a deposit on a new parartment. Deposits can run anywhere from $800 to $1,800 around this part of the world. Now homeless, the Stevens family is trying to gather enough money between earn income and donations to put up the money for a deposit on an apartment. They have a 14 yo at home but their eldest is an enlisted marine now.

In these hard times it's easy to feel you've barely got enough for you and your family to get by but remember rich people don't help the destitute like this. Poor people help poor people. (Read the Grapes of Wrath and found too much human truth in it) Finding room for giving will do more for your heart than taking in a movie or one more fast food breakfast. Rent a movie and eat a bowl of cereal and drop $20 - $30 for the benefit of others. :)

So, I need your help. I went shopping looking for cute summer sandals, and instead found these. Pro: they are cute. Cons: They are not sandals, and while not super expensive, not necessarily cheap enough to justify shoes that might be out of style by the fall.
So, do I keep them? Do I return them and get some espadrilles instead? Do I get both?
Here are some other ideas:
Stripey slingbacks at Banana Republic. (Pro: low heel, yay! Con: stripes and colors are not as neutral as I would like.)
Another cheap option from j. crew. Pro: again low heels, and cheap. Con: The denim color is just okay.
I'll tell you if I find any more options.
The 29th Annual AXA Raheny 5 Mile Road Race 2013 took place in Raheny Village, Dublin, Ireland on Sunday January 27th 2013 at 15:00. There was also an earlier set of junior/childrens races at 14:00 and the walkers' race at 14:40. The 'Raheny 5' has become one of the most famous road races in Ireland. The race has continued to grow year-on-year and this year was no exception. Almost 3,000 participants took part in the various events of the day. The incredible voluntary organisational work carried out by Raheny Shamrocks and the local community in staging the race every year must be acknowledged.
The weather was postively wintery today. There was an icy wind blowing into the face of the runners at various points in the course. This made for some very variable mile-splits. Overall the weather was favourable in that the rain stayed away and there was some helpful 'wind at the back' for the runners in places.
This is a large set of photographs where images are captured from the ONE MILE Mark and at the finish straight with about 300 Meters remaining (up to an overall finish time of 55 minutes). The overall winners where Joe Sweeney and Mary Cullen.
How can I get a full resolution copy of these photographs?
All of the photographs here on this Flickr set have a visible watermark embedded in them. We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not know of any other photographers who operate such a policy. Our only "cost" is our request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, Google Orkut etc or (2) other websites, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us. I ran the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set!
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information below.
If you want to contribute something for these images?
We do not charge for these images. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that they are good enough that you would ordinarily pay for their purchase we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.
Don't like your photograph here?
That's OK! We understand!
If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible.

Ahmed is a friend of mine with a serious problem. His disease is getting worst day by day and now he is significantly impaired also in simple movement like walking. Last year he has done both plain films than MRI evaluation to assess the stage of his coxarthrosis and his disease is so advanced that surgery is mandatory, as soon as possible. After several months of research we found a young researcher at Sapienza that introduced us to an outstanding surgeon with a great experience in hip surgery. Finally Ahmed found a solution for his problem but now he needs a lot of money for the surgery. He has to be treated in a private clinic because his condition is really serious and this is a one-shot surgery. In public hospital the type of prosthesis used is tailored for elderly people, but he is young and “normal” prosthesis are not good enough. Moreover he can be treated only one time because of post-surgery changes, bone shortage (due to his dwarfism) and other medical problems to technical to be discussed here, and so there is no chance for a re-intervention if something goes wrong or to replace the prosthesis in a second time when the prosthesis itself will need a replacement. He is a smart guy, kind, and involved in social activities as well as in media and learning activities. I cannot describe him in just few words, but I know him from a while and he is really a great guy and he deserves this chance to live a normal life. If you can, please help him with a coffee, a coke, a beer or whatever you want. If you cannot, please share his page trough you social world helping him reaching as many people as possible. Thanks a lot for your support! ahmedbarkhia.net/
