Life as a Teenager

”help.”

“People are used to hiding their feelings so well, that nobody can really know exactly how a person is feeling. We can be standing beside someone and not even know they’re hurting.”

I have grown allot closer to my food. I suppose that happens whenever you live in a farming community. This goat was brought in the back of the truck with the pupils for food at the games. With no refrigeration you can't bring the meat if it isn't alive. As I took this picture I pitied this poor goat and its inevitable fate of filling hungry pupils plates. I pitied this goat and wondered if it wanted any food or water.

Then I slit its throat. Okay, that was abrupt but that's about how quick it happened. With the help of three pupils I am now certified a certified goat butcher. I had wanted to prepare an animal since watching a cow butchered on my birthday (you know its a different place when your birthday highlight is watching a cow butchered) and this was my chance. The boys were thrilled to teach the teacher and surprised that I had never killed or prepared an animal. For pupils that have never seen a grocery store the idea of not preparing what you eat is as foreign to them as killing a goat for dinner would be to suburban american kid. Its times like these that remind me that even if my pupils never understand all the math like I desire them too they will still be able to eat. (also they could ace an anatomy test)

Hai hai!

Exercise Javelin Chase

Brig. Tim Carmichael, commander, 1 Signal Brigade, Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (HQ ARRC), hosted Exercise Javelin Chase (EJC), July 8-9. The race was organized to raise funds to support the Help for Heroes charity.

EJC is a 24-hour running race where 8-man teams will compete to see which team will complete the most laps on a one-mile course in 24-hours. The winning team will be the team that has completed the most amounts of laps in the time period. This could vary from 150 to 200 laps.

Each team had to raise a minimum of £250 to participate in EJC.

“This is a charity race to raise money for Help for Heroes, which is a national charity that looks after the needs of injured military serving members and former service members,” said Brig. Carmichael.

He said they hope to raise a total of £5000 if not more and every single penny will be donated to Help for Heroes charity.

The event took place at the sports field behind HQ ARRC Officer’s Mess. The course was on grass and tracks with no tarmac that winds around and through the woods. As if it wasn’t going to be challenging enough to run 24-hours, the rain on opening day would make it a little more testing.

In the 24-hours a combined total of 2426.00 miles were covered, with the winning team, 299 Signal Squadron, Special Communication running 222 of those miles, and 22 Signal Regiment coming in second with 217 laps.

Overall this project went much better than I thought it would, as 3D modelling and animating is definitely not my strong part of Digital Art. I much prefer creating drawings with a tablet using Photoshop.

Positives:

The model shows accurate similarity to Stewie from Family guy through proportions and scaling, which is good as the viewer can clearly see who is portraying the villain from The Walking Dead.

The Rig is effective and works well with the animation itself. Everything that needs to work with it works, to a reasonable extent. It's basic but gets the job done.

The expressions made are clear and allow the viewer to understand how the character is expressing their feelings in the animation. The animation itself is of relative accuracy, if the animation and the actual scene from The Walking Dead were side by side, there would be at least some sort of similarity.

Negatives:

The model still feels a little unpolished, maybe spending more time on edge loops, especially with the body could have helped this. I think it's because of the mouth, I didn't pay much attention to the mouth which is probably why some of the animation doesn't look accurate to the audio. Better timekeeping with the project could have made this a lot easier improving my model.

Another negative with the model is the rig itself, although it works well with the animation I couldn't seem to get it to be as effective as it should have been.

The rendering itself went alright, however, some of the audio didn't match the animation so I had to mess with some of the animation afterwards, which resulted in it being low FPS unfortunately. Next time paying attention to the graph editor in Maya and using accurate keyframes would solve this.

For future reference, time keeping and sticking to the calendar that I created would have made this project a lot smoother than it was. Rushing certain parts that needed more time and effort, and taking longer on parts that didn't need much attention made it a lot harder for me to meet the deadline with a polished project.

Relating back to my original storyboard, I had plans to show the character stepping down from a ladder to show a hint of comedy as well as the character walking away. But due to not being able to fix the IK's on the leg as stated earlier, I had to simplify the animation due to attempting to fix the legs was taking up a large amount of time.

This is my first attempt at conceptual photography.

I've learned in life that it is okay to ask for help sometimes, it isn't a sign of weakness, instead its a sign of strength.

help yourselves (one each)

if anyone know anything about this PLEASE LET ME KNOW

As anybody knows, sometimes a part-time ass manager is not quite enough.

Two British soldiers decided to complete a 24-hour treadmill run organized to raise funds for "Help for Heroes." Between the two, they ran 134 miles and raised more than $1,500. In a surprise ending, each runner received a Georgia Guard Commendation Medal along with certificates of appreciation.
