We found a katydid on our porch this morning. I tried capturing the critter with a smartphone and then my DSLR (handheld). Here's one of the better shots of the katydid on our welcome mat.

Still figuring out this camera. 1/60th of a second bounces the shutter a bit, double exposing a large strip at the top of the image, but the other speeds seem fine. I think the unusual contrast effect of this image was caused by shooting a barrel lens into a backlit type of situation.
