Here we have the new photos of my bags done by a great photographer friend. Over time he will be upgrading my photos for me! Kabalah Tree of Life is Hand embroidered with metallic threads. This bag is big enough for a large sized Tarot Deck (e.g. Thoth) or Oracle Cards. People have also used these bags for jewellery, crystals, runes and more!
There are 32 Paths on the Tree of Life. The first 10 are the Sefiroth/Sephiroth - not including Da'at/Daath. The remaining 22 correspond to the lines or channels of energy that join the Sefiroth/Sephiroth together. Each of these, in turn, correspondds to one of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
In Western Hermeticism Kabbalistic principles such as the 10 Sefiroth/Sephiroth were fused with Greek and Egyptian Deities, the Enochian system of Angelic Magic of John Dee, and some Eastern concepts within the structure of a Masonic- or Rosicrucian-style Esoteric Order. Many of the rituals were published by Aleister Crowley and were eventually compiled into book form by Israel Regardie. Liber 777 by Crowley is a set of tables relating various parts of Ceremonial Magic and Eastern and Western religion into 32 numbers representing the 10 Spheres and 22 Paths of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life.
It seems I'm always making something for my DD... so this time I embroidered something for my little boy for a change.

* First bag in a new series of shoulderbags.
This bag is made out of a vintage fabric from the 1950's, it is lined and has a zippered pocket inside. The front is hand embroidered after a picture from a 1951 French fashion magazine.
The bag is one out of a limited edition of three identical bags (as far as handmade and hand-embroidered bags can be indentical).

This bed is dressed with a batted silk bedspread in a delicate shade of cream and dripping with layers of lace. The roses and rosebuds on the bedspread are hand embroidered using custom dyed silk ribbons. The same roses and rosebuds are embroidered on the insets in the headboard and footboard of the bed as well as on the pillows. The matching dressed vanity bench pulls the whole room together. Cornelia went out into the garden to pick some flowers that she would press and frame as a birthday gift for her dear sister Fanny, when suddenly she heard the hooves of a horse coming up the walk and a rider appeared clutching the morning post. Was he bearing a letter regarding the health of her sister or an invitation to a ball given by the handsome new neighbour of hers?

To avoid making any pattern marks on white and cream-colored fabrics (or for making a pattern on dark and black fabrics like this black felt), I came up with this way of transferring a pattern for embroidery:

Yes, it is fussy. And tedious. It takes twice the amount of time. Will probably ruin my eyesight. And my hands, while I'm at it...but what of it? The method yields PERFECTION...and you just can't touch perfection.

You all know how I adore the PBK Penelope collection!! I have been wanting to translate that into a pair of baby booties for quite some time. My ability to creatively craft lately has been hampered by much stress at home..so I have been away from it..but glad to get back in the swing I hope..
