In order to get into the lighthouse tower, we had to get our hands stamped. That was to prove we signed the legal disclaimer. We had lighthouses on our paws the whole day!
Malcolm the Molecule is a regular member of the Groovehoops ensemble, as well as a frequent guest at Miss Saturn's burlesque shows. He is a truly amazing performer, and he does things with a hula hoop that leave the rest of the community catching up. He's also a painter, and painting his face and body is a new line of fusion he's been thinking about lately.
He's one of the wandering performers tonight at a Red Bull celebration of art, dance, and culture. Their Ascension '06 party at the Brooklyn Sugar Factory in Williamsburg is a randomy night of discovery, art, good fun, and provocation in music, fashion, dance, underground culture, and just plain glorious oddness.
This is Ascension's first time in New York City. I first ran across Red Bull's rambling mysterious brand of party-time in Austin this year, when I became a great fan of the Red Bull Safe House. In fact, a couple of pieces from down there appear up here in Williamsburg.
Early in the evening there's a cheese-and-veggies spread for the kick-off party. I wander by with camera in hand; Malcolm obliges. I'm here shooting tonight with New York Cool.

Today I took out the excellent Nikon D5300 DSLR, charged the battery and did the capture above. I had minor surgery recently, thus the bandage.
My Flickr friend in Vancouver, Arlene Gee, rotates her cameras every now and then. I think that's a fine idea that encourages utilizing the photo gear that we have.
Well, the kids are going back to school, and the weekend is just ahead. Happy Bokeh Wednesday!

Wood carving, done by my father, many years ago.
He had first made a model in clay, then some years after that, had carved this.

It stands about 37cm or 14.5in tall.
festering - my hands are an enigma!
itchy - oozy - dry - flaky - sore - tight
all words to describe my hands. evil i tell ya.
i'm trying to show you without totally grossing you out. it's bad.
some things have helped in some ways, but the end result is still a festering, sore, hard to use hands.
on the up side, i'm slowly getting healthier. :) i bought a juicer - the Jack La Lanne's Power Juicer (the Juice Man) of corse. :) and found out the Apple Cider Vinegar i'm drinking in my 100% grape juice, is good for blood pressure as well.
maybe i'll become a nutritionist. :)
who knows... anyway, i'm not happy about my hand condition but, there's good to come out of it damn it! i'm determined.
