as i went further up, i met two other climbers who were coming down from the summit. by then the clouds were all around us and they told me "it's horrible up there!" and were worried that i attempted to go up alone. i knew they were right, because you need crampons and maybe ice axes for the last part (i didn't have those with me) and also the wind became really really strong and sight was getting worse. i told them i would only go as far as there is solid rock for me to stand on and that's what i did. everything further would have been stupid.
so that was it, my ~85% climb of mt. taranaki. it definitely was fun, although i never had areal chance to make it to the top. if i ever come back to new zealand, i will do the whole thing! :]
the moment i was back at north egmont, i decided to do one of the tramps around the mountain. i went for the three day pouakai circuit. there will be some more pictures from this trip which will be the absolutely last of my new zealand pictures.. D':
Been doing mini figs for a bit so I decided to go back to some of my larger sized collection :P Here we have Getter Dragon, and I don't think he is happy!
There are still a few left over coughs and colds from winter. So this is just going to be a general get well card, for friends who are feeling particularly grotty....

Both used with many thanks.
76/365. So I finally got the mixture perfect. My jets are great, but now I just get some crazy funky collisions. Some of them are cool I guess. I will continue to explore, but I would LOVE any advice or guidance! Right now I am using the 5mm brass nozzle. Does anyone use the larger one?
Summer time fun as the local children joyfully accept the spray from the erupting fountains, on a warm summer early evening.
This Mallard drake was very intent on feeding and wasn't at all bothered by me. Maybe he was chasing something juicy in the grass. The ducks are rather well fed as its a popular place to bring children who then enjoy feeding the ducks. But this one was after something more than a breadcrumb!
Not quite "Authentic" Santa Fe but anything Red and Silver is a good catch in my book. BNSF 519 leads M-CHIGAL west through Romeoville.
Revisiting an old Nickelodeon MOC from last year, only updated with my newest camera and some green slime effects!
I'm now getting the bumps in all the right places and a definite lack of bumps in he other place too
This kid is getting older all the time, especially since he's quickly fitting into his older brothers' clothes. Playing around with a 70D & 85mm f/1.8 for www.CanonRumors.com enjoying them both so far.
The crowd heading to Twickenham stadium from Twickenham station, an hour before the Australia- England rugby game. There's traffic in between and 82,000 people heading there, so a five minute walk takes half an hour!
There is no illusion or trickery in this picture. The pilot, a man of steel marbles, is actually flying this plane not more than 6 feet above the ground. He did this the entire length of the runway...for fun. He was just waiting for the jets he was going to meet up with to form up. This is what you get when you make that pilot bored.

Een beterschapswens van en voor een van de graffitikunstenaars die onlangs door een auto werd aangereden. Mooi gebaar.

A last minute jaunt with Dai (Wiffsmith) following a great weekend seeing my friends Ross and Cei getting hitched in Bath.
I had my beach fix for the week with that great sky.
A great weekend topped off with some photography.
I believe it is a Honda Fit. Shot as I was getting into my Prius. I wanted to see how the Canon sd750 did with motion blur.

Day 149 [5-28-2016]
Blistering hot! Today has been the hottest day since I have been back. It reached up into the 90s which has been killing me. I am a person of the cold, heat is my enemy. I spent most of the day going around getting my car fixed up and running small errands for myself before Scott and George got off of work and came out with me for some photo adventures. We hit up Nantasket and walked along the waterfront, drove down to Hull to watch the sunset, and then went to the local golf course to take more light up golf ball long exposures. A pretty good day for pictures I would say! Lets just hope tomorrow runs colder.
Can't wait to see what the next day brings!
A flock of 15 Rosyfaced Lovebirds were having a very noisy get-together on our neighbour's roof. By the time I had finished fiddling with lens, camera, exposure blabla, only 9 were left. But still....I felt pretty chuffed to have managed this snapshot at least.
Edit: Added to Wing Wednesday three years later....
Never found a group like this again. Still chuffed. ;-)
Happy Wing Wednesday!
