Walked past this carpark entrance in Sydney last month and liked the light shining through the bars. This morning as I am looking at it, I've hot the music from Get Smart the TV series playing in my head.
i have a tendency to over think things,
complicating the simple....
today i learned that sometimes you just have to take a chance and jump in without thinking.
Before attending a social event, I believe it's imperative to get into a proper frame of mind and a nice sauvignon blanc helps greatly. It was also nice to feel the warmth of a fireplace on a brisk October afternoon at Happy Hour. Cheers to my many sweet friends! ❤
I was out a few nights ago with a family member (also a photographer) doing some shooting at Hamilton, Ontario’s industrial waterfront at Pier 9, on Burlington Bay. This is one of the tugboats used to guide lake ships in the Burlington Bay industrial waterfront area but mostly for moving barges loaded with equipment and supplies to and from the Atlantic coast via the St Lawrence Seaway. The tug Jerry C shown here was being started up by its crew during the evening shoot period and it was the first time I have seen it with the interior lighting on. To manage the extreme lighting range, three frames were used to capture detail in various reas and then combined in post-processing to get this result. - JW

Tech Details:
Taken using a tripod-mounted Nikon D7100 fitted with a Nikkor 12-24mm lense set to 12mm, ISO100, Auto WB, Manual exposure, three frames with base for overall at/5.6, 25 sec, another at 4 sec at f 7.1. for the cabin interior and a third one at 1/25 at f/7.1 for use in getting s bit of lamp frame detail in the very brightest areas. PP in free Open Source RAWTherapee from Nikon RAW/NEF source file: scale image up to 9000x6000, adjust exposure to about 1 stop brighter than as-shot, enable shadows-highlights and significantly boost highlight recovery to handle lamp areas and also boost shadow recovery to bring out hull details in tugboat, slightly boost contrast in L-A-B mode, enable highlights-shadows and significantly recover highlight details, slightly increase vibrance, enable sharpening, enable noise reduction, save, and repeat for the other two frames. PP in free Open Source GIMP: open the three frames as layers with the overall one on top , the cabin interior frame in the middle and the lamp frame on the bottom, adjust the tone curve to optimize the look of the overall frame by pulling down the mid-tones to darken it overall somewhat, reduce the blue channel saturation to tone down the blue hull which came out a bit too blue due to the CREE LED lamp’s used to light paint the hull being a bit on the blue side, slightly increase contrast, all disregarding the impact on the cabin interior or the lamp housing areas, then on the cabin interior/middle layer adjust the tone curve to get a good looking cabin tonality and use a large soft-edged eraser tool to remove the overall frame areas corresponding to the cabin and side door areas revealing a better interior, create new working layer from visible result, on the lamp housing/bottom layer, adjust the tonality of the frame to just get detail of the lamp housing frame with a surrounding brightness balanced to the white cabin exterior wall, use a large soft-edged eraser tool to remove the lamp areas from the top/overall working copy layer to reveal the better lamp centre detail from the adjusted lamp layer, create new working layer from visible result, fine tune adjust the working layer to get a good overall ‘look’, sharpen, save, scale to 6000x4000, sharpen slightly, ad fine black and white frame, add bar and text on left, save, scale image to 1800 wide for posting , sharpen, save.
"I'm not getting in that Box."
"But what if I get lost? 。゚( ゚இ‸இ゚)゚。"
"That's fine you two, more room for me."
Anyway, just in case you needed any reassurance, no I'm not dead.

Happy belated new year and all that jazz. What was that, a grand total of 4 mocs last year? Fucking hell, really knocked that one out of the park. This year I'm gonna strive to be significantly more productive (no it's not a new-years resolution, don't call it that). I've already made two mocs so far (one of which has pieces on the way and will arrive within this week or the next). So I've already achieved in half a month what took me 5 months last year. Promising start.
However though I'll be moving houses soon™ and that will more than likely impact my ability to photograph anything during the packing/moving/unpacking process. Also praying my lego that I've ordered doesn't get lost in the mail when I switch my postal address. But that won't happen, I'm sure.
I couldn't be bothered to sit around and wait for the new Obi Wan's Episode II Jedi Starfighter to come out later this year so I've built my own in the meantime. Assuming the pieces arrive before packing boxes happens I'll try and get it uploaded before I move. But that may not happen. International shipping/handling into this country takes so god damn long. Otherwise, It'll be the first thing I do after I unpack.
Then after I get settled into my new place I'll see about organizing and ordering the pieces for my next moc, Katarina, a construction-themed robogirl OC. She's the rainbow warrior who's giving the Terminator thumbs-up sinking into the box in the picture. She's all done and finished, I just need to figure out which parts I have and need to put her together.
After that? God only knows. Maybe I'll make another Microfighter or something nice like that. But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Bucks are going into rut around here already. Mating season runs generally from October - December. These two were getting aggressive with each other in the midst of today's heavy snowstorm. I watched them out my window spar with each other for about 15 minutes until they moved off. (6 miles west of Buena Vista, Colorado)
I photowalked with Danita Clark, specifically because she wanted to work on getting photos of sunset at the Santa Monica Pier. The low tide helped, too.
I asked for her to stand still in this photo. :-)

Went to the farmer's market this morning with my man. Fresh eggs, fruit and vegi's are in my fridge! Well, most of the eggs.
Pretty sure eggs in a bowl are cliche.... especially on Easter weekend! HCS!

Like the rest of the world, we're living under stay-at-home orders -- for good reason! The directive, in our state, allows for outdoor activity such as walking for exercise. This hill is a challenge for Janice, but she seeks it out!
57002 and 57007 work a Tonbridge to Tonbridge via Ashford snowplough test trip, probably the only time these snowploughs see the main line judging by the amount of snow we usually get. Seen passing Tudeley, 27 September 2017
Me and Sami, once again, this time, taking a picture for our health project on homophobia and gay rights. We took a bunch of pictures of people holding a sign that they would write "it gets better" on, then we put them all together in a video along with some other photos and statistics. Hopefully I can get that up here at some point!
