I thought this outhouse was really neat. I do not think it was functional.

Stainless steel rubbing strip for the carefully routed cable casing path.

A few more of the Silverton houses. The second of the pair on the left looks as though its windows might be original. In a further proof of Fray's Law, privet hedges, becoming uncommon further south, endure here. When I was a boy there were three distinct sorts: first there was the kind with very dark shiny leaves; then, most common, was the intermediate sort that we see in the photo; last was a variety with tiny leaves disposed on either side of the stem. "Privet hedge" was a generic term; I think the dark shiny kind may actually have been laurel, and it is improbable that the sort with tiny leaves could belong to the same botanical family. Everywhere they are giving way before the advance of Leylandii, a horrible gloomy plant that is impenetrable to light, doesn't have proper leaves, looks the same at all seasons and grows several feet a year. When I come to power it will be illegal to plant them and juvenile delinquents on Community Service will be formed into chopping squads whose task it will be to rid our suburbs of this accursed plant.

Just a quick video demo to show DWO now refitted accurately and correctly aligned, and not touching/rubbing dial spacer.

Dial spacer secured to movement correctly.

Each and every date snaps over perfectly now, midnight also.

Next up is to secure the Rolex dial to the dial spacer.

Working closely with Parry-Williams, Design Director Frank Stephenson wanted a car that was ‘striking but also functional, a real statement of intent. I wanted a genuinely beautiful and dramatically honest “supersports” car, in keeping with McLaren’s heritage but also at the forefront of automotive design’.

He further developed the surfaces, making everything as small, light and dynamic as possible. This helped give the car a natural, almost organic, quality. The design intent was to expose the carbon structure beneath, not only showing exactly where the air was going – through the door ducts into the main radiators – but also to break up the visual mass of the body side and accentuate the cab-forward stance, giving the car a real look of lightness and agility. All the ducts were developed with the aero team, giving a direct link to McLaren’s motorsport heritage.

‘I wanted it to look like a Le Mans racer with that low body, long rear deck and open mesh rear styling to put the mechanicals on view and to help cooling,’ says Stephenson. ‘Plus there is the most aggressive rear diffuser ever seen on a road car. Like everything on the McLaren P1, it’s there for a good reason.’

The glasshouse was inspired by the canopies of fighter jets, giving the occupants similar sensations to a pilot. The windscreen is deeper than it is wide, creating a feeling of lightness and airiness inside. Good visibility has always been a McLaren mantra.

The lights are a signature part of the car. The LED headlights, with their speed marque DRL, are extremely small in size meaning more frontal area can be devoted to cooling. Whilst at the back, the low rear deck and pronounced wheelarches, give the evocatively simple rear end a powerful graphic. The concept being that the rear lamps are literally the trailing edge of the bodywork, framing the diffuser and allowing more heat to exit from the engine bay. ‘Again, beautiful, organic forms framing and enhancing the technical features,’ says Stephenson

A newly renovated Functional Training Center equipped for cutting-edge cross-fit workouts opened at Camp Stanley Jan. 28, in Bldg. 2609. The facility, which is next door to the Camp Stanley Fitness Center, is equipped with an array of fitness equipment that includes dumbbells, kettle bells, medicine balls, and TRX equipment - a system of bands suspended from overhead that rely on gravity and afford a workout to a variety of muscle groups and joints. Among Warrior Country officials who marked the reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony were Brig. Gen. Paul J. Laughlin, the 2nd Infantry Division’s Deputy Commanding General for Maneuver, and Col. John M. Scott, Commander, U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I.

Finally a four door! Front/ engine remains largely the same, and this also features the same abysmal fuzzy photos that has plagued me tonight.

The fall season of company athletics ended with the brigade championship in Functional Fitness Nov. 19 at Daly Field. Bolstered by a large contingent of supporters, the cadets from Company G-4 quickly dominated the field with the fastest team in the two-event competition. The Co. I-1 team placed second. This was the first semester in which the Department of Physical Fitness added functional fitness to its company athletics program. Photo by Mike Strasser/USMA PAO

This scaffolding is on hollywood rd, the renovation is on the second story and contrasts against the galleries and antique shops next to it. The place that was being renovated seemed like a gallery. Many galleries are moving into the area due to the lower rent and pushing out local stores

A wearable, functional miniature journal for your thoughts, I wear a time worn, distressed leather coat which was once the back of a vintage Egyptian cushion.

Between my vintage endpapers which feature Italian handwriting, I’m filled with 36 sheets (72 pages) of hand torn, tea stained paper for your creations. Feel free to sketch, draw, doodle, write or even stick things in me (provided it isn’t sharp). Hand stitched with archival linen thread, I’ll bundle up your musings with my strong double length brown leather tie.

Hanging from an antique bronze mother-son link chain which secures with a lobster clasp, my total length of 14 inches means you can read or write in me while I’m around your neck.

I had a slab construction plate that had a corner broken off, do I took a small bowl I had thrown and reshaped it. I glazed the bowl on broken corner. Now I have a chip/veggie & dip bowl for myself. The bowl is on there to stay.

The Giulia was an absolute design icon of their time and was virtually unrivaled in terms of space and performance. The body was not only unmistakably charismatic, but also shone through functional strengths. The cubic basic shape offers excellent space and clarity, but still has an exemplary drag co-efficient value of just 0.34!

Drilled a lens board real quick and mounted up the first lens that came to hand, a Nikkor-W 210/5.6. This camera is fully operational.

These are the cheapest possible vinyl tiles I could find. I could have put down black and white checkers, which would have been cooler, but that would have cost twice as much. And besides, it'll be covered in chicken litter soon enough.

These are adhesive-backed stick-down tiles. They are outrageously easy to put down; I did the middle of the floor in half an hour last night and the edges (which required cutting) in another hour this morning.

Not only did my mutant coneflower bloom, clearly, all systems are go.

Part of a small group of houses at Silverton, near Dumbarton, Scotland. They occupy a corner of an estate whose houses are otherwise conventional, with pitched roofs. It's as though they weren't quite sure what they were doing. In one place flat-roofed houses with bay windows looked out at houses of precisely the same pattern on the opposite side of the road, but with pitched roofs. I'm not sure whether it's accurate to call these houses "Modernist". They are so highly stylised that they belong to no style, being merely cubes with windows. I quite like their grim functionalism; all the same I wouldn't want too much of it.

I've always loved the yin-yang symbol. This one has a little color to it and hangs above my front door.

For our basement, there are 4 main functional zones that we needed: (1) a living + lounge area to watch tv for 6-8 individuals, (2) office for 3 computer stations + filing storage, (3) my very own art studio for client projects + crafts, and (4) a utility/storage room.
