I’d been busy over the Christmas hols playing with polymer clay. I made a few sheets of Mokume Gane, and got carried away with it, creating way too many.
They don’t stay fresh forever unfortunately- I use Fimo classic, which is pretty resilient, and store my polymer sheets between layers of grease proof paper.
I finally decided to use the sheets as veneers and make several pendants out of them. I made loads LOL!!! , as you can see from the plate, I still have plenty left over to finish off . I’ve posted a few of them for you to see.
I’m going to open a second Etsy shop for my polymer pieces and other fun stuff ... Hope you like them :)

I had the day off a few days ago so me and Leilani got busy with the fun stuff. First we played tennis with Jason. Then went swimming. After swimming we went up to Daybreak to play at this little lake side beach and playground. It was her first time playing in sand like this. We built a sand castle that was pretty awesome. She played in the water a bit and made a few friends who wanted to use her buckets and help build castles. Then after the "beach" Jason surprised her with going to the movies. We saw Despicable Me 2. She laughed the whole movie is great!
I can't believe how big she is getting and she just keeps getting prettier and smarter all the time. We have to register her for school the beginning of August. So we have to get her immunization shots. . . Not sure where to go for those lol. I've checked a few places out. One just wasn't there anymore and the others you have to pay.I'll figure it out somehow. :)
Today is my Friday. I get 4 days off . . . not really happy about it, could really use the money instead. . . but whatever. I would love to go do something fun like go camping or to the zoo or to Lagoon. . . *sigh* I wish.

Alas, very little of the fun stuff in the interior is visible - I painted the seats to match a photo of the real plane I'd found on line- medium blue, with yellow piping and a dark blue 'wear area' in the middle. I painted every one more than once because I'd make the piping too wide and then cover it completely when I went to trim it with blue. Next time, decals for the piping.
Getting enough weight into this to make it sit on its wheels was no small task. You can see in the photos how I ended up making a big hole in the nose and filling it with chunks of lead-free solder. That wasn't enough, so there's more in the foot well of the front row of seats.
My first attempt was filling the nose with little lengths of steel wire. Since the nose was closed and painted, I fed it into the mounting hole for the front landing gear. Eventually I wasn't cutting them completely separate, just making a deep dent that allowed the wire to bend, but I never got enough into the nose to come close to holding it down. Weeeell, one of those scored lengths of wire is now sticking up between the windshield and the top of the instrument panel. It shook loose after I'd glued the pilot's seat row door... so I'm hoping to find a way to capture and remove it before attaching the last door.
Wing tip landing lights, aileron mass balances, cargo bin hatch and that main gear wheel all need to be attached, and the fuselage decal and upper wing registration. One more coat of Future acrylic floor wax over the repainted nose and to seal the last decals. Paint touch up. Antennae and navigation lights would be a terrificly good idea but that may end up being the second chapter.

Bizarre Heroes

“Bingo,” said my female companion, pouring over a copy of “Bizarre Heroes”. “He draws men and women like we really are, with lumps and funny looking angles. Except when he’s adding absurd layers of muscle on Megaton Man in parody. I like that.”
I read to her. “But, Earth Mother, isn’t Megaton Man a rather silly choice of a mate for such an ultimate female as yourself?”
“’Well, all men are silly, Fanny.’ This speech satirizes old Marvel dialog, you know,” I said. “Too stilted and self-conscious. This whole comic book is a subtle parody of ‘60s and ‘70s Marvel comics.”
She munched a cookie. “I don’t know about that, but I like how ‘Bizarre Heroes’ a story and a parody. The art is different. The faces don’t all look alike.”
“You tellin’ me – you, the great feminist – that the, er, scarcity of costumes and ‘See-Thru Girl’ don’t tick you off?”
“Funny stuff,” she said. “She turns naked with a thought and controls men with overwhelming desire. True, to. ‘Course, men are controlled with overwhelming desire over anything. Football. Bra commercials. A smile.”
“I get your idea. And it doesn’t bother you this is just another battle comic?”
“Part of the parody. Didja know they’re having a sale at Dillards?”
“Don’t change the subject. So, you think this is well-drawn, well-written, and even … insightful underneath the parody?”
There was a pregnant pause.
“So, you think this is a good comic book?”
“Really good. I’d say it’s really fun stuff.”
“You’ll buy ‘Bizarre Heroes’?” I grinned triumphantly.
“Nah.,” she said, and sipped some Suisse Mocha. “Comics are for kids.”
Recommended anyway.

Some fun stuff arrived from Coast Airbrush.. my favorite online store for pinstriping and gold leaf supplies..
A Mack Series 30 Dagger, Three Mack Long Bob, Two BobBo Super Quad and three Kafka´s... The Dagger is the only one I have tested before.. Have heard a lot of good stuff about the Kafka brushes, so I´m exited to test them.. The Long Bob´s looks nice too but BobBo Super Quad are a bit shorter than I expected, but I´m sure I´ll find something to use them at too :-)
I have a couple of pinstriping jobs coming up.. one custom Harley chopper and one, not actually sure.. but it ´s a Harley too and needs a lot of outlining on the flames a friend of mine painted.. black tank, fenders and oil tank with red flake flames :-)

This was a recent addition to the Antique PowerLand collection of Man's Toys. Greg was telling me that they had one just like this when he ran a small short line railroad back in Minnesota. The front shields are articulated. Very fun stuff, this.
