Purchased new in Okinawa in late 1973. One of our "many" favorite Yashicas. The Tomioka Optical made lens (owned by Yashica in 1973) is super sharp and kinda fast at f/ 1.4.

I enjoy using my "older" Sony camera for shots like this. At only 10mp it adds some softness to what would normally be a "hard edged" image lacking depth.

Thanks, Chris and Carol

Lots of fun stuff to see and photograph. Nesting season so plenty of fun baby birds.

We had fun collab-photoshoot with @alexandrasleaze. Didn't have any experience with shooting latex and Alexandra was new to film photography, so we both had new fun stuff to learn and try. Big thanks for the awesome @just_michela for great posing and being patient with us learning and tweaking the new stuff <3

This image perfectly represents the problems I have with 35mm film. The biggest issue for me is that it takes me so long to finish a roll. I am too methodical for 35mm anymore. I loaded this roll into my pinhole camera in August of 2022, shot 2/3 of the roll on a trip to Victoria, BC then promptly forgot about it. I set the camera aside, played with other pinhole cameras and then when I got the itch to shoot my 35mm pinhole again it was late March of 2024 and by this point I had forgotten there was even film in the camera still. I remembered quickly enough when I popped the lid of the camera and saw a roll inside rapidly soaking up all the light I was pouring into the camera. Thankfully this was not my first time inadvertently exposing a loaded roll of film and my reflexes kicked in and a dark bathroom got me the rest of the way to making sure I didn't spoil this roll. Even seeing the film once I had rewound it gave me no clue as to what I had been shooting with it when first loaded. It was not until I saw the developed negatives and realized this was a leftover roll from that Victoria trip that the pieces all came together in my memory. I guess if I am being fair, the length of time it takes me to get through a roll of 35mm is not the only issue at play here. There is also the fact that I have so many pinhole cameras that this one was able to sit out of rotation for way too long. And the fact that I really should be better about putting sticky notes on my cameras noting the film type loaded. But hey...

As far as what is going on in this image, I was using the Reality So Subtle 35R pinhole camera. It has two pinholes, one on the front of the camera and another on the back of the camera. You can expose your film either normally on the emulsion side, or through the reverse side of the film creating a redscale effect. Or, as in what I did here, you can make two exposures one via the front and then turn the camera around and make a second via the rear pinhole overlapping the normal and redscale images into a double exposure. Kind of fun and I kind of like kind of fun stuff. What else am I going to do while waiting for a drawbridge to raise?

Sunrise on the Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley can be magical. The sun strikes the mountains all around gradually, working its way down, and then BAM the dunes light up in one big bang. Fun stuff. New tool this year - focus stacked 4 images with Zerene Stacker.

[+4 in comments] Best viewed here. I don't know what's going on at the top there, but I quite like it. This is my cousin Isabel again. She came over last weekend and we made cake and painted sets. Both very nice.

I am tired, but doing lovely...ly. Lovelyly? I don't even know.

The weather is incredible.

We finished our set for the play. It's coming along swimmingly.

My whole family was gone tonight so I got to walk around the house singing at the top of my lungs. (:

I also went to zumba with Isabel (that one ^) and her sister today. Fun stuff!

I had a long discussion with my friend today about his newly-formed band (and my newly-formed band) and how we need album covers and band pictures and such. Someday, our bands are going to play together, and it will be good. :) Also, he wants me to take his band pictures. Woot! So far it's him and the guy that's playing my husband in the play. Hahah.

Alright, that's all. Bye.

Okay, I lied. That's not all. I just wanted to thank you so much. Yes, you, the one sitting in front of the monitor reading this right now. Thank you for your support. I know this sounds cliche etc. but every view and every favorite and every comment and every testimonial means the world to me. You don't even know. :D So thank you for encouraging me and inspiring me and helping me to grow incredibly this past year or so with my photography. And thank you to those who have stuck with me when I was... well, not that great. I really appreciate everything you guys do on here. If it weren't for you I would never have gotten this far. Cliched, I know, but it's true.

A native of Valencia CA, Nazanin is a natural performer. Singing and dancing @age 3, modeling at age 10, vocal performance at Carnegie Hall (New York, NY) by age 15, and there's no end in sight.

Her evolution continues to be televised. Nazanin is a recognized talent as a finalist, in earlier years, on Ed Mcmahon's (Star Search spin off) "Next Big Star" and more recently on the reality talent competition, "Are You The Girl" (TBoz/Chilli –UPN). Her television experience is also supported by acting roles on Disney Channel's, feature family comedy, "That's So Raven" (Raven Simone), and Nazanin is featured in the music video for "Anonymous" (Bobby Valentino) as the main love interest. Nazanin is the personality of choice as host to numerous shows, and the face of choice for several national commercials. Nazanin can be seen in numerous print work such as Smashbox cosmetics, Cosmo Girl, Seventeen Magazine, Ecko Unlimited, and more.

Yes, she is a serious Triple Threat. Nazanin's command of the stage, experience in musical theatre, and studies of jazz and classical music demand respect from her peers in the music industry, including grammy winning music masters Kevin Irving (Kerv Ent.- Aftermath, Timbaland, Scot Storch, Emanuel Seal, etc.) and "Rockwilder" aka Dana Stinson (Method Man, JayZ, Janet, Destiny's Child).

Nazanin’s multi-cultural upbringing produced a level headed beautiful woman, with the determination and promise to build and maintain a name for herself, that will be spoken as an empire. Although she is a master in front the camera, nothing compares to her love and pursuit of music.

Well, many of us recognize this "style." Ugh. I have had abdominal pain since the day before Thanksgiving, and today, I had an upper endoscopy. In years past, I have had a hernia repair, and that was suspect; also possibility of an ulcer. We don't have all the info in yet, but hope to know what we are going to do with me by Monday. Yikes. As the saying goes- THIS IS ONLY A TEST! but what that means is that nothing is solved, and I am still in pain . . . I always seem to do the fun stuff during holidays. :(

Betty was a lot of fun as ussual, and the shoot went well, fun stuff to play with on a friday morning :)

I got an ipad for work- I am allowed to take it home and play with it too- kinda fun stuff! ;) Well- I have an idea for a short film- it really didn't pan out this weekend so I will have to try again- ;) I hope it works cause it seems like it's awesome in my head. I have been so tired lately that I've decided on a lifestyle change- eating better- cutting out fast food since it's easier than cooking (which I hate to cook) exercising, maybe even looking into a gym. I need more energy and I think that my lifestyle is paying a toll on my body. Plus I need to get to bed earlier- that should help as well. Do any of you guys have some good suggestions for a lifestyle change like this!? - do you guys do anything in particular that makes you feel better and have more energy?! :) xo

First try at doing a light orb...Didn't have any led lights so used a glow stick...The glow stick I used had been in the freezer so wasn't as bright as it could have been. And the wiggly bits were when I was trying to grab the glow stick at the end.Wind was blowing a gale and about a minute after this the heavens opened and it poured down rain and had me dashing for cover...Definitely will try this again..Fun stuff!!

We actually made it to the burn this year! We didn't sleep through it.

BACKSTORY: Well, that was a crazy burn! So much shit I never expected to do, at WickerMan Burn 2016!

- Damaged Carolyn's car on the way in so that it permanently squeaks, except it got better by the time we left

- Ate a tequila worm (so much more chewing than you would imagine!) when naked-goddess-bartender poured me one, randomly. (I had to check that it wasn't something from the woods)

- Watched fireworks so dangerously close that I needed first aid for a burned eyeball (could this be why the vision in that eye went bad this year?)

- Learned to weave. On a loom. And wove some. Took video of weaving.

- worried about this spleen issue I have that is starting to feel less like a pain, and more like an actual tumor that you can distinctly feel on one side (still hurting as of 2017, CT Scan found nothing)

- controlled huge flamethrowers with laserbeams & buttons

- fun stuff on top of a 20-ft wooden ziggurat art installation (Carolyn was too scared to go up!)

- Watched a firework fireball zoom past Carolyn's head (she didn't even flinch) and catch the ground on fire 1 foot from her feet

- Made out with both members of a couple (beards can be soft?)

- Bounced in a moon bounce

- Saw Carolyn fall off a bounce-house ramp, tumbling in mid air, as onlookers screamed (one massage later, she's fine)

- Played with propane bubbles (cover hand, stick in fire, watch self burn) with zero regard for my safety or even knowing what they were ("other people aren't dying when they do this, so i'll do this, whatever this is. no, i won't ask anybody any questions about it or learn anything safety-related")

- Treated 2nd degree cooking burn with actual aloe leaves someone bundled up, just in case. Only had to walk 20 feet from my camp! No relation to previous bullet point.

- Tried [REDACTED]

- Used logical deduction to guide a damsel in distress to her campsite that she could not find, even though I had never been there. (If you want to flatter me, make me feel like Aragorn. I also accept pints of cherry tomatoes & great conversation)

- Received tons of compliments about my hair & badass cartoon shirt (and about my brain) (but I get that a lot... it's the others I'm not so used to)

- Worried about Andrea in rehab. Did all kinds of crazy things to maintain connectivity to check up on her. A lotta good that did. RIP, Andrea.

- Learned to always great one specific person with "Hi, Clint!" (Her name is not Clint. This is how she prefers greetings.)

- Wore My Little Pony boxer-briefs around strangers

- Sent video from the middle of the woods with a phone that only works when plugged in (tricky)

- Met the creator of games I've played for 15 yrs, & found out that the vintage set of game pieces my aunt found me in a thrift store are so rare that he was re-telling people about our set... Even when we weren't even there. So honored! To tell the man who invented Fluxx thatyou had the original Fluxx back when that was the only Fluxx you could get was awesome, too.

- But to make a reference to a specific episode of 2 Stupid Dogs to the creator of Fluxx, and have him know it and repeat it back... Wow.

- Chastised by Channy for not knowing how to spell my own name on facebook, becuase she wanted pictoral proof of my story that did not believe -- that the deer shit that came out of the deer when my Bonneville was totalled (while driving back from Dirk's) had splattered onto my car in the shape of Pluto the Dog's face. I totally sent her that picture!

- Lost 1 of 2 cameras, resulting in our pictures being quite incomplete (gee, real Burnery of whoever found it to not bother giving it back. If I find someone else's camera, I guess this means I'll have to keep it to break even?)

- Learned I can consistently inhale an entire nitrous oxide cartridge in one lungful

- Randomly given 2 beers by someone, only to ask to see her face, and, after introductions, us all realizing we already know each other already and are FB friends already (wtf?! what are the odds?!)

Saw a truck covered in fire driving down the mountain like nothing was going on. Overheard: "Are you seeing that? Is that real?"

Phew? Did I get everything? I don't know! One night, I never saw my camp during the night time, at all.
