So after a couple mods here is the updated version of my tumbler with some modifications on the chasis and other fun stuff. Enjoy
So techincally this is a day late seeing how it's 2am, but I don't care, I did it and posted before I have gone to bed :P
I'm not sure if I've stated this little fact about me, but I love the victorian type style. The dresses, hats, jewelry, tones, all that fun stuff. So I'm on a gothic victorian style kick since I came up with the "dress" idea. Today I went to Michael's and purchased that pretty cross, a cameo pendant, some black ribbon and that chain with the cross. This is my first time EVER wearing a cross, I have never owned one before today (it's against the religion I was raised with) I don't plan on wearing it other then for photos, because I think they are beautiful in a photo, but have no reason to wear it otherwise. But the cameo, I have a feeling I'll be wearing it all the time. And of course, I had to wear my mini top hat. It's just too pretty to pass up.
Expect to see this dress a few more times, because I love it.

..i hadn't picked up a copy of Fun Times since 2003.. mostly cuz i just hadn't seen it since then. But according to the cover ..they are still making the magazine.. tho' nowadays it's a bit smaller in size.
It still has alot of fun stuff for the kids inside ,but given the state of affairs today and the focus on Childrens' health.. there is a alot more 'activity' suggestions,environmental facts,and focus on outside activity. So it seems anyway. Also there's more central focus on just Ronald. No other residents of McDonaldland appear in this issue. ((Purists be advised that those characters exist in other forms,products, and media ..as well as in markets in different parts of the globe. Grimace is NOT dead.. ;} .. )).
It looks like this is an 'End of the Summer' issue for the kids. >v<
Because Kurt's game ran till 6:30pm, we decided to do what Kurt calls "Super Salad." This involves going to the local grocery store and picking up salad fixin's. We already have the salad at home (we buy it in bulk), so we're only getting the fun stuff we wouldn't normally have on our side salads.
We also saw this Cuban panini (pork, swiss, and dill pickles) that we just had to have. I also stole Kurt's idea for a sweet ending to dinner by adding some Splenda to some nonfat yogurt and adding strawberries and blueberries!!
Side note: Grace calls strawberries "red berries" most of the time. I guess she figures blueberries are blue, and strawberries are red, so they must be called "red berries"!

On a very chilly fall weekend, we headed out to Makoti. And I’m so thankful we did! How did we end up in Makoti, a town I’ve never been to or somehow don’t remember even hearing of despite it being near my hometown of Garrison? Dog sitting! Last summer we babysat a very funny pug named Ed, and we hit it off with his owners! They’re a little younger than we are, but age doesn’t matter - we have a great time! And visiting Makoti was the beginning of all that. So all thanks to Shelby and Luke for the invitation and for showing us such a great time at the threshing show!
Makoti is a cute little town (very little) north of Lake Sakakawea. It’s way out on the prairie not close to really any city. And we didn’t even see main street or any of the town itself - we went right to the edge of town where they have the threshing show! And we had the corgis with us - and they were welcomed! Murphy was just a puppy so he got a lot of love. At one point we popped into that old church in this photo and a bunch of old ladies were sitting around chatting and eating popcorn and they all just adored him and begged me to let them feed him popcorn. I said sure - just a little - and he cleaned up! He was showered with popcorn. It was mutual heaven for them all.
Anyway, Makoti has this great assortment of very old buildings they’ve hauled into the threshing show area - I wish I had taken more photos but we were busy meeting a lot of people! One place we stopped was a blacksmith shop where Shelby’s brother was helping some other local boys do blacksmithing things. Shelby said it used to be run by a very old man who made tiny horseshoes for the kids. She had the best stories of growing up on a farm near Makoti - what a great childhood! I can see why she and her husband stuck around.
Makoti also had a big building where they were milling logs the very old fashioned way - and branding wood too. There was so much to see! And food to eat. And fun stuff for kids to do. What a day! And I found out later that apparently my dad and his friend Ted ventured up to the threshing show in the early 90s when we were living in Garrison. The moms stayed with the kids and the dads went to look at the tractors at the show. They had fun.
Honestly, if you want a real North Dakota experience - go to the Makoti threshing show. If you want fun events and good food and amazing people - go to the threshing show! And if you want a real life “Lake Wobegone” experience - go to that threshing show! It’s worth every second!
p.s. there was threshing at the threshing show! they get incredibly ancient machines up and going - and Shelby’s dad helped with it! But we just observed from afar - it’s a bit loud!

Pretty modern pinup girl Betty, (one of my newest, most preshie friends) recently bestowed this cuteass armful of spooky awesomeness on me!
Like a ravenous zombie I tore into the box and found an actual sea of stickers & stationary in shapes of all different confections! It wouldn't have been possible to feature it all in one shot! The puffy Hello Kitty stickers transported me right back to childhood, the ghost Dots box now has a place of honor & pride on my candy shelves and each pump of soap from the ghostie is like a little blob of Betty love!
I was so overwhelmed by the goodies I had to enlist the help of Frank to aid me in holding it up for the camera for all to see!

The non-food things we picked up from the Vegan Spring Market. Rowan picked out the dragon box for himself. I picked the Bartok magnet and cat earrings!
I went to Irish Fest with Nancy and Nelson. We did fun things and saw fun stuff! (Diana did Chihuahua hospice 😢)
Beast, Juggernauts, Sentinels, Blob, Colossuses, Saberteeth, Banes, Rhino, Thing and Red Hulk, whew. I'll be busy!
