A lighthouse is a guidance for real, like in a building
For some reason lighthouses have always fascinated me
A guidance in your life is your intuition
As hard as it can be
As easy as it can be
It's always there
Whispering
We tend to listen more to our ego tho
Our ego always have the arguments, the solutions
Why to do things
How to do things
Definitely how and why not to do things
It's often the easy way-solutions or the more fun stuff to do
Your ego keeps on building up arguments why it's smart to follow the egos way
Be aware when you repeatedly think the same arguments over and over again
It's your ego talking, it never whispers
It's cool to know tho, now you can choose to listen if you want, either it's the ego or the intuition
I love knowing
Knowledge rules
I just have to add this little music for you, I love Pink Floyd, it totally rules :D
I haven't heard this one before.
Talking to a loved one today, while this one was playing in the background, totally made this music a lovely piece of art the rest of my day.
Happy Macro Monday.
"This jasmine scented green tea consists of delicate tea buds hand-wrapped around hidden flowers, which reveal upon brewing... " from Sofra Bakery and Cafe in Boston. A gift from my sister-in-law, Carol Simone, who is a genius at finding, and giving, fun stuff, and could be the spokeswoman for Girls Just Wanna Have Fun youtu.be/PIb6AZdTr-A
I haven't yet brewed a cup of this tea, but when I do, I'll photograph the hidden flowers that are revealed and post the photo here. :-)
Went for a little walk this morning. Luckily I brought my camera along! It was slightly strange and unexpected conditions! The sky was almost overcast yet the sun was bursting through and then there was some light mist! Fun stuff!
I hope everyone has had a peaceful holiday!
We actually had some sunshine today. It is dark by 5:00 pm--I keep reminding myself that my summers are full of 20 days with loads of light. Sometimes that helps me get through the winter.
P.S. If you follow my blog I have posted the 7 questions--check it out and see who the photographer is this week. Fun sTuff.

Sorry for my absence of late but I have been doing a lot more adventuring of late and a lot less of the social media. I know its important to find a balance in your life so I am just trying to find that balance.. Anyways.. spent a few weeks in New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas shooting hoodoos, sand dunes, remote canyons and all the fun stuff..
Anyways here is one from White Sands.. was not sure we were going to be able to shoot due to the wind storm but manages to get a few off.. the atmospheric conditions really warmed up the scene which is usually of the cool side.. but not this night as the sun was setting !!
Thanks for looking !!

This photo was taken at Blandly Station a state arboretum. I was liking the light and Anita was all about The bamboo....even tried to find a path through it! This was just the beginning of a very long day of adventuring that included a mill, Harper’s Ferry West Virginia and a total of three states! Fun stuff!
..eh, this is what happens when you're up at 3am listening to Pretty. Odd. like an obsessive. o__o (Hence the title.)
Pretty much proves that I fail at both perspective AND lighting.
But ohwell. Other things to do, like math homework due tomorrow.. fun stuff. -__-
So since I've been stranded at home most of the year this year because of COVID, I've been working on my night image processing skills. As such, I've gone back and reworked some of my old favorites, and this one in particular turned out really good I think. The key is that I captured good data while I was out there, and now that I know how to get at it better, it was REALLY workable. Fun stuff!
My son and I went searching for coal along the tracks this morning. He wants to build a forge and make a railroad spike knife. We got rained on a little but walking the tracks brought back some good memories from my younger days. We used those tracks to go hunting, fishing, camping, riding motorcycles...all kinds of fun stuff.
Our trip has taken through Craters of the Moon in Idaho (very cool location to visit). and then to Crater Lake in Oregon. I was able to get some pretty captures there in the day and then some night Milky Way captures too. Very cool to see the Milky Way over Crater Lake.
We are now visiting with relatives in Oregon and having a good time with family and celebrating the 4th of July.
A view here of the backyard of my wife's aunt and uncle on their small farm (been playing with the longhorns).
Morning capture here on a pretty day with the red and white blue there under the Oregon sunlight.
Hoping to go see a small town 4th of July Parade and then fireworks later tonight. Fun stuff.

After spending the morning and part of the early afternoon working on the garden (thank you Anita for all your hard work!) we decided to ride some local country roads and headed over into the Valley (Shenandoah). As we traveled down this small road I spotted a very old wooden Silo that was Octagonal in shape and instantly recognized it as one that I had seen on Facebook in the group called Exploring Va. We Had to stop for our own set of photos. I heard motorcycles and turned to take a look and there were several passing by. The first one, a guy dressed in blue did a Wheelie right in front of me but his shot was a little blurred since I wasn't expecting it. But the next one who did it, I was ready for! They were showing off for us of course as besides that house there was no one else around and we were straight out in the countryside! :) Love stuff like this!
My husband is a huge Pink Floyd fan. So in our "computerroom" is a shelf with all kinds of Pink FLoyd stuff, like dolls (from "The Wall") and a little guitar our son gave him for his birthday!
There are also some other fun dolls like Ozzy Osbourne and Spongsbob figures.

I just upgraded my on1 software the other day. They have a lot of really nice new filters & presets. It's based around using RAW image data (my old version was right before they went to RAW). I normally sure photoshop but over the years do use some of the resources in on1 as they are actually available to you while in photoshop. the bad thing is you can't work 32bit or anything but then again - my upgrade is so new I have to check this aspect out also...maybe something has changed. I am used to using work-arounds for stuff like this anyway and would save out a file to go through on1, adding back to the 32 bit layers etc.
What the hell is this? It’s a technique that uses refracted light to create an abstract image. Commonly called “refractography”, there is no lens attached to my camera. This is simply focused and refracted light. There’s more to the story, however. Read on!
To create this image, I’m using a few ingredients:
- High-powered LED flashlight: The light source is a simple flashlight that I can mount to a tripod for easy positioning
- Fresnel Lens: Also commonly known as a “magnifying sheet” or a “pocket magnifier”, this is also the same technology used in “better beamer” accessories to refocus flash bursts over a much greater distance. This helps me keep the light from spreading too far off course – I need to keep the light as straight as possible, and these cost about $4
- Refractive object: In this image, I’m using a glass vase with a spiral pattern, but different objects will create different patterns, lines and shapes. This same object could create a dozen different interesting compositions! Try anything made of glass, with unique surface details providing distinctive results!
- Refocuser: Because the cheap Fresnel lens doesn’t give me completely straight light (a telecentric lens would likely do this), I use a small single-optic lens from an old Contaflex camera to create sharper results before the light hits my camera’s sensor.
- Colour: Somewhere in the mix I’ve added colour by projecting the result of birefringence into the refraction. Yep. I’m that geeky.
The result is an abstract piece of art, one which can barely be considered a photograph. It pushes the “limits”, which is why I enjoy tinkering with this sort of thing. There is also no way to create exactly the same results twice. Each attempt requires different adjustments of the variables and constant fiddling to produce unexpectedly beautiful results.
I had originally created this refractograph as a classroom demonstration with students watching as the image appeared on the camera sensor. It was a fun moment to see everyone’s eyes light up as an “image” was formed with a series of optical filters.
Fun stuff! I need to spend more time tinkering. :)
This is a f***en fantastic song... Torpey's polyrythmic drumming, Billy (Hendrix of Bassplayers) Sheehan's monster playing, it is all just so good... turn it up and shake your fanny-butt! 'Take Cover' - Mr. Big (live at Budokan)
This is an extreme close up picture of a leaf bud on the maple tree in our yard . Stuck at home ripping off wallpaper and other fun stuff needed a break and could not escape to the park and the birds wern't at the feeders so the leaf bud was my only choice but it is a beautiful bright red color against the blue sky.

Well, I didn't really intend to, but I built Star Wars. Not based on anything in particular, just a generic light cruiser/whatever from some generic era. For what it's worth, it probably fits in best with the Old republic/ KOTOR era, with the wide cockpit and general curviness. I was quite inspired by the Republic shuttly thing in TOR.
So yeah, rather pleased with this. Angles, curves, nifty cockpit orientation... fun stuff all around.
Speaking of fun stuff, I finished a VV earlier, but too late in the day to take pics. Expect those on Sunday, possibly maybe.
Inside the gardens is the plant nursery, cafe and shop with lots if fun stuff to buy after one has looked at the extensive and award-winning , beautiful garden.
"There are 5 clearly defined areas within the gardens, a perennial border, designed to display colour from Spring to Autumn, a silver birch forest, an edible garden of generous proportions, a parterre garden and a number of display gardens. The formal parterre garden is built along 17th century design principles". www.alowyngardens.com.au/
