FUNFACT the front side is 27.6 feet wide but the back side (not visible) is only 24.5 feet wide, because the back corners form right angles and the front corners do not.
The bottom two floors are from 1894 and the top two floors are from 1927. It was a furniture store. I see where the first floor underwent a 1970s-ish-looking remodeling.

Or in normal terms...slime mold. I saw this in the spring now it came back on a wood pile in my yard.
And yes, I have eaten orchids when served to me. I usually dip them in the ice water I always order in case they are being re-used, which would be pretty gross, but I try to take considered chances and preventative measures. It's not like I'm eating blowfish or something, LOL!
Oh, and I only know humans can eat the blooms, not sure about dogs and other pets. I was thinking about that movie with Meryl Streep, Adaptation, about the ghost orchids of Florida. I hope if anyone is eating those blooms, they at least get a photo first.
Bird feeder update, day 4, no activity, but I'm sure as soon as one little bird finds it, he'll tell two friends, and they'll tell two friends and so on, and so on, and so on. You know, like the old Breck shampoo commercials!

3.5 mile long Spieden Island in the San Juan Islands was once an exotic game hunting reserve. Hunting is no longer allowed on the island but the island holds numbers of Mouflon Sheep, Corsica Fallow Deer and Sika Deer. They can be best observed by boat from the west side of the island. The island is privately owned.
