Funfact, this little rod leads to the open sea (but humans lovd to turn little structures into attractions, such is humanity)
There were tons of tourists flocking this area, thanksfully there was a quick couple of minutes of emptiness which allowed me to snap a quick shot.

Since alcohol and ingredients like garlic, onion, raw meat and fish hinders monks from emptying their minds and cleansing their souls because of the way they smell, bringing those in a buddhist temple is apparently forbidden.

I saw Harry Potter last night and it was incredible. if you haven't seen it, go see it now. I like it better than the other movies because they stuck to the book for the most part. (some of the parts they changed ended up being kind of stupid, though) we waited in line for four hours (7:30 to 11:30). there were about twenty people in front of us. when I was in line, I actually got really cold and shaky. I was shivering for a good hour, but I felt better by the time the movie started, thank goodness. there was a massive uproar in our theater because they restarted the projector and we all thought the movie was about to play, but it went back to trivia and everyone was chanting. I really love Harry Potter fans =]
Sorry this photo is so bad!

This is actually a picture i took and edited for a school project.. The project was about recycling at our school, and all the four classes of media and communication year one had to be splitted into smaller groups and cooperate on their own idea on how to make teenagers recycle and so on.
The poster contains so called “fun facts” about sorting and recycling, and this one says “Did you know that in the middle of the Pacific, there is an island of garbage that is double the size of Texas?”
Among all those who entered the contest, there were many great ideas. But it turned out that the jury liked our idea best, so our posters will hang in the school cafeteria!
Creds to my group at school that helped out.. hehe.
Here is the link to the website that is mentioned at the poster:

It is owned by the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, according to parcel data from the GIS office of the City of Beaumont, and presumably is filled with telephone switching equipment. I cannot find any evidence on the internet of the building having a name other than 220 Main Street; nor can I find any funfacts such as Erection Year.
A google search of the address turns up a bunch of very poor-quality business directory websites ("yellowpages.com," "superpages.com", "usplaces.com," "usbizplace.com," "getfave.com," "hoursofoperation.biz," "thewebmap.com," "texas-businessdirectory.com," "us.justdial.com," etc. — garbage websites!) that erroneously list 220 Main Street in Beaumont as the address of an array of small businesses ("Orthotics & Prosthetics Techniques," "Nelson Architectural Engineers," "Dugas Clay Attorney," "Alpha Communications," "Texas Siding Co.," "Bass Billy," "Bean David," "Complete Homecare Service.") The sites' botched and spoiled databases contain telephone numbers formerly associated with particular businesses, numbers that in present-day reality are no longer associated with any entities other than the local telephone company, the address of which — 220 Main St in Beaumont — is then assigned to those businesses for public display. Stupid!

#tbt to our old fish exhibit by the stairs! Though all of our animals are real, almost all of our fish are replicas because it is difficult to preserve their skin without it loosing size and color. Saltwater fish are almost always recreated using entirely man-made materials. A mold of the fresh catch is made and then cast in polyester resin that contains fiberglass. Then the taxidermist carefully recreates the coloration of the fish by painting each scale from head to tail to match a photograph. #good2know #funfact #comeseeourfish #beanmuseum

Today's #WordOfTheDay is apophenia, which comes from German Apophänie, from Greek apo- (away, off, apart) + phainein (to show). Apophenia is the general term—pareidolia is an example of apophenia.
Some examples are shapes you may see in the clouds (left), the "organ player" in Neptune's Grotto (middle), or "the face on Mars" seen in Nasa's Viking photos (right).

Peaks Island, Maine USA. Beavers are rapidly transforming this isolated ecosystem. • Beavers: Nature's Landscape Architects.
☞ FunFacts: Beavers eat the bark and spit the chips. –•– "They are the largest rodents (gnawing animals) in the world except for the capybara of South America. Unlike most other kinds of mammals, beavers keep growing throughout their lives. Most beavers look larger than they really are because of their humped backs and thick fur. Thousands of years ago, some beavers of North America were about 7 1/2 feet (2.3 meters) long, including the tail--almost as long as the grizzly bears. No one knows why these huge beavers disappeared." – from WorldBook's excellent summary.
And get this: an average beaver can cut down as many as 200 trees a year !

Peaks Island, Maine USA • On my last visit to the island, I posted a shot of this very tree (see the first comment), which someone had wrapped with duct tape. • beavers' • progress • update: apparently it worked (for THIS tree, at least)!
However, the beavers are rapidly transforming this isolated ecosystem. Ponds are multiplying and expanding; water levels are up a foot in some areas, since my last visit. • Beavers: Nature's Landscape Architects.

This was Golden Value Foods. The idea behind the rooftop pyramids of this era was that customers would feel welcomed by them.

Quote from Garrett's instagram: It's #mhmonday!! And here's everyone's favorite #zombieghoul #GhouliaYelps!! And her pet owl #SirHootsALot . Ghoulia was designed with the rest of the first wave, which is why she was in the original webisodes too! So it was so fun to see the fan reaction to her knowing she'd be coming along the next season!!! She released in spring of 2011 (which meant she was out right before Xmas 2010). #funfact: Ghoulia is named after one of my co-workers who helped work on the original Monster High Pitch: Julia Phelps! Another fun fact: Sir Hoots A Lot's original name was Brains, we were going to have that be the only word Ghoulia would say - like old times zombies - but that name was already trademarked so Sir Hoots A Lot was born! In the end it made Ghoulia a better character not saying any words. I do love her so much! I love her style, getting to put her in comic inspired clothes later on to continue to show geek shriek style was always so fun! The last pic is Ghoulia from the Monster High 6 pack where we re-released the Ghouls in their original looks! There will definitely be more Ghoulia showing up in future mhmondays!!
