total fan, i was in the front row!

World's Smallest Front Yard. Venice Beach, CA

I was sitting in a car park over

looking the beach when a storm front moved through. This can happen in Melbourne at any time and without much warning. Got off this shot from the car window as the rain bucketed down and the wind picked up, gusting to 100 klm per hour.

A village founded by Russia-German Mennonites as "Bergtal" ("Mountain Valley") in 1927, later renamed due to Russian (Soviet) aggressions to "Rot-Front" (Red/ Communist Front).

26 de Octubre 2013.

This is my front 'lawn' this month. They have all seeded themselves.

Next month it will be Lily of the Valley, and later in the year some orange dandelion type plants whose name temporarily escapes me.

Then I put the mower over it and there is a sort of rough sedge/grass for a month or two.

Some tight-a***s probably find it offensive but my insects love it. And it can't be seen from the road, so the local residents association Nazis haven't noticed.

And, unlike block-paving, I don't need to clean any cracks with a toothbrush (yes, I have a neighbour who does that!)
