Summer on Crete - day 3
We drove a bit around the Island with our rental car today. In the afternoon we stopped at this beach in the South of Crete to first try out our scuba diving gear. It's a small beach near Plakias and relative unknown. I never actually parked a car 'on the beach' before. But here the road ended on the beach with a few trees for some shade.

The white-fronted tern is the most common tern on the New Zealand coastline, at times occurring in flocks of many hundreds or even thousands of birds. It is mainly a marine species that is seldom found far from the coast. The name ‘white-fronted’ refers to the ‘frons’ or forehead, where a thin strip of white separates the black cap from the black bill. Most other ‘capped’ terns, including the black-fronted tern, have black caps that reach the bill when in breeding plumage. The scientific name striata refers to the finely-barred (striated) dorsal plumage of recently fledged white-fronted terns, as the original description and name was based on a juvenile bird painted by William Ellis, surgeon’s second mate on the Discovery, on Captain Cook’s third visit to New Zealand.

My entry to the Rebrick Ultimate Train contest. It's basically a hovering train but I tried to keep the steam locomotive design and mashed it up with spacecraft stuff. :)

This is the Kern Front Fault Line. It hasn't caused any major earthquakes in our area in a while. But the fault is always on the move. You can see the bump when I drive over it. The road is always being patched there. The road here was repaved in 1984. So you can see that the earth has moved the road a lot. I noticed though in the area where I live that bumps in the roads are starting to show up. Most noticably on Norris Road just South of Meadows Field in Oildale, California.
Finally, the front of the house has been buried and there is no more shiny metal. One day, this will be our front garden and the trench you can see will be a hedge.
These dunes are near the eastern end of dutch island Terschelling. When I took this picture this summer, they were basking in the sun. Being close to the sea, they are now likely to be windswept and wet!
Jonny Tillet
This is a DIY spot in leeds, the rest of the park is mint but the only bit that was dry was this shitty little bank to ledge, fortunately for me Jonny is up for skating anything. This front blunt took a while but he was stoked we got something and we had a real fun day shooting photos! I love skateboarding

Had an amazingly fun shoot with the beautiful and very talented Fischer Y. a recent Dartmouth grad. She braved the ridiculously hot and humid New Hampshire summer and we founds some amazing places to shoot around the Dartmouth College campus.
I had a blast! Almost every shot was great. It was a pleasure working with someone so talented and natural in front of the camera.
