We had some really wet weather last weekend. The worst flooding was in New Lynn, about ten minutes from where we live. We are lucky to live on a ridge so we don't get affected by flooding. Even so we had some water creeping across the floor of our garage which has never happened before!
These are some of the wildflowers in my front yard. I do not fertilize nor do I use herbicide. I just let grow what wants to grow. I do mow it from time to time just to keep the neighbors in check...

It's easy to confuse the Purple Dead-nettle and the Henbit -- both are members of the mint family.
