JW Marriott Resort Guanacaste

I discovered this old Antique shoop only 30 minutes from where I live. My latest dream is buying it, living there for a while till my creating useful and beautiful items from old and abandoned stuff is self sufficient and then living nearby.

There is a wonderful wooden fenced area in the back that could be a wonderful garden area. Saturdays I would invite the local organic growers to have a tail-gate market, and other local junk-heads to flea market in the parking lot.

There are enough items on the lot, and it looks like much much more in the building to keep me busy and happy for quite a while ....

Day 1 with my new camera: most of today was spent looking for a new apartment. We might have found one!

This is the front door of our current place. The umbrella is one of my favorite things, it has an old Bank of Boston logo, which has been out of use since ~1994.

Thanks to everyone who made this get on not only explore but front page!

Finally my front yard garden is filling in and it gives me a good feeling to look out and see the color. The yard is elevated to about waist/chest level of the people who walk by on the sidewalk, so that's a good incentive to keep it interesting from their viewpoint. (That's the semi-scary long vacant house on the left ~ it's been empty for over a decade! Apparently the bickering heirs couldn't agree on what to do with it and so it sits and deteriorates. It was a cute 1925 bungalow and has a gawdawful addition that tripled it's size. It's falling apart...)

This Crab Apple was grown from seed by one of our club members. Planted in 1982 and grown in the ground for about 10 years. I bought it about 7 years ago and haven't really done much with it. I decided this year to give it a major redesign. It has great roots but the branch structure is not very good. I reduced the tree about 50%. There was very little taper on the top. I was tempted to remove all the branches but decided to leave these few this season.
