geelblestinker/yellow-fronted tinkerbird/pogoniulus chrysoconus in Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens, Johannesburg. Although its front looks red, it cannot be the red-fronted tinkerbird. That one occurs 600km east. June 12, it was established in meantime via Trevor Hardaker that this is indeed a yellow fronted one, but with the unusual orange front.

Like the whole block, the front yard has a fairly steep slope. A lush rectangle of lawn is framed by a large variety of native shrubs and ground covers.

Found these on a street down from a yard sale. Yard sales can produce many unexpected surprises. So I decided to capture the same surprising, rewarding beautiful, in black & white.
My front porch in summer after my birthday. The flowers are echinacea (aka purple coneflower); the teapot is handmade somewhere in Missouri.
There's no lamp because the cats kept breaking them when they jump up to look outside. I'm looking for a sconce, headboard light, or floor lamp to fix that. *Photos the Realtor took for listing*

My pics were used on the front and back cover which was pretty cool. Also did and event shoot which is featured on one page of the magazine.
The scanner has chopped the edges a bit- oops!
My main issue is that the armholes feel to small, like the bottom seam is too high. I'm not sure how to fix it. I can make the lower curve deeper but I don't know how to transfer that to the actual sleeve.

went out to find the short-eared owls again today, only a few left. Did happening into this trio of GHOs roosting in a huge, abandoned barn within the same WPA. Hopefully their presence wasn't at the peril of the SEOs. tough to tell them apart now looking at the photos - you could believe they are all the same owl...
