Conviver diariamente com o povo sul-africano foi uma experiência maravilhosa e que mudou minha vida! Perdi o receio de falar inglês e hoje sou muito mais segura.

O que me marcou muito foi ter participado do "Mandela's Day". A cidade inteira celebra com muita alegria e doa um pouco do seu tempo para ajudar o próximo. Além disso, visitei a Robben Island, onde é impressionante caminhar pelas ruas e entrar em prédios que marcaram a história da Afríca do Sul. Visitei a Table Mountain, o Cabo da Boa Esperança, vinícolas e muitos outros lugares maravilhosos!

Com a experiência no exterior, minha vida melhorou muito. Aprendi a planejar melhor o meu tempo, a valorizar pessoas queridas e dinheiro, além de perceber na prática que o mundo é muito além do "nosso mundo". A vida acontece de maneira extraordinária e pessoas compartilham experiências e idéias, tornando o aprendizado muito mais interessante.

"Front of Muses"

This next photo of was taken in front of the Muse's Building. This is the original statue that was used to draw customers in, almost like a neon sign today.

Geo Muse Clothing Company was the direct reason of how easy it is to find comradeship with fellow residents of Atlanta. The Muses Clothing Company was on its way to being demolished in the late 1970s due to the rise of the automobile and the need for parking spaces. The City of Atlanta proposed that instead of a lovely department store, there should be a parking garage instead. Atlanta residents were not fond of that idea and quickly banded together to protest the City of Atlanta's future plan. Through teamwork and patience, Atlanta residents changed the City Planners mind and had the entire Atlanta go through an Urban Revitalization, instead of being demolished.

A Real Estate Company, Aderhold Properties, now owns Muses and keeps it in Historic Preservation. The city of Atlanta now recognizes Muses as a Historic site in Atlanta. Muses is definitely an enriching site to visit, and I encourage everyone to stop by.

I was impressed by how original everything was kept on the inside and outside of the building. From the architecture to the same elevators used in the past, the building definitely has a historic feel.

The Velvet-fronted Nuthatch, Sitta frontalis, is a small passerine bird found in southern Asia from Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka east to south China and Indonesia. It is a member of the nuthatch family Sittidae.
