All the other herons in Regent's Park flew away from us, as herons do. This one had other ideas and was determined to get some bread, despite being attacked by the swans. Regent's Park, London.

... so friendly i petted her on the head and was able to take a few photos of her with my macro lens - no zooming required! Madness. She just literally stood at my feet & posed! Wish i had of took some bread with me... poor wee thing sat there patiently and got nothing for it.
This lady kept me occupied for about 1 hour telling me her life story starting when she was living in Shanghai under Japanese occupation...

This gorgeous horse hurried over to me while I was pointing the lens through the chain link fence. His left eye is blue and the right is brown, and his gait is beautiful.
I forgot the first rule of horses: have something for them to eat. I hurried to fetch pea pods from my sandwich in the car, but he'd given up on me and refused to come back. Normally the horses in this field are very wary.
No - this is NOT a "Friends of Thomas" event! After the licence fees became too high in the mid-2000s, the Fairbourne Railway devised its "Friendly Fairbourne Engines" event as an alternative. In 2006, we see "Lord Bart, the Stout Director" exchanging a few words with Sherpa's crew at Fairbourne station.
Note that the second and third coaches are still in the experimental chocolate and white livery, which was briefly tried in the early 2000s. This quickly gave way to blue and white, and subsequently to plain blue.
I saw this colorful lovely lady in the town square and said, "I like your look! Could I take your picture?" She said, "Sure! Where do I stand?" I saw the yellow and red stripes across the street, and posed her in front of that background.
