went fishing yesterday, without much luck, but did have soem friendly birds to photograph during the day
There were some folks feeding the pigeons, and they actually got onto their hands! I wanted to get them to land on me, too, so after those folks left, i picked up some leftover bread, and sure enough

I switched over to rechargeable batteries a while a go. These are the batteries I've been using. I started with the Energizers which have preformed well with one exception, they have to be charged shortly before use or they self discharge by the day (1 to 3%) depending on who you believe. The Eneloops by Sanyo are the most widely reviewed and highly recommended with a low self discharge rate closer to 1 to 2 % per month. The Imedion is the Powerex answer to Sanyo's Eneloop battery with a higher mAh rating (2400 vs 2000). All of these batteries have proven to be worth the investment. I initially bought them for the external flash (AA) and iPod speaker (AAA). But now use them in every thing with AA or AAA batteries. My calculations gave me a cost pay back at six months. The environment received benefits immediately and when I go out shooting I start out with fully charged batteries not like with alkaline batteries which I left in until they died. So better all around.

I was taking the picture of the entrance with the underground sign on it when suddenly this girl came out and unrequestedly gave me her wonderful smile.
