Eastern hemlocks the most common conifers around our cottage, and can grow very large. In contrast, their cones are remarkable diminutive, on scale with the mosses that often grow beneath them.
My partner and I trekked and scrambled to the top of a forested crag behind the cottage. I've gone there a few times before but it's becoming a bit athletic for us. I was rewarded with the chance to photograph mosses, lichens, and ferns growing under trees where human feed seldom tread.

Here's a fun shot. As I was walking past the dock at Eagles Lake, I saw an alligator slowly cruising through the water towards to dock. As I knew he often sunned himself there, I prepared myself to catch him lifting up. I was able to click off several shots. I think this is the best one. Actually, he was coming out to meet me and say hello. See him smile in anticipation!

Cool looking duck came swimming by closely to shore in a lagoon. - Richardson Ocean Park on the Big Island of Hawaii, close to Hilo. There's ponds and lagoons for swimming, snorkeling, & sea turtle-watching.
What makes the BrewCycle a fun experience is everyone smiles and waves at everybody. It's as if you're in a parade and the entire city treats it as such. Plus, I can imagine it's good exercise, too.

I had a pair of Robins in the garden of my old house which used to feed from my hand . This one used to follow me every where even into the house . I grew quite attached to this Robin until one day it wasn't in the garden ready for me to feed it and I never saw it again or its partner .
We stopped along the way to photograph a beautiful scene with a horse in a meadow with a pond, but the friendly horse came trotting right up to us to pay a visit!!

We found this little guy and his brother and sisters in our woodpile. This is the 4th time we have had a feral or neighbor cat lay their kittens in our yard. Not sure what to do about this. They sure are cute though! HMBT & HSoS!

I caught this during a walk in the woods and at this spot I noticed these two squirrels. I had just enough time too take a photo of them both on my left and on my right :)
