these are the messengers of early spring. they tell us that spring is coming again by their gorgeous fragrance.
i've seen many superbbeautiful posts of these flowers from my flickr friends, so may be this post was useless.
but i think this is a rare shot of those flowers looked up because i am a short person in comparison to average Japanese ;)
Japanese name is "roubai". "rou" means wax, "bai" is plum. i think it's called like this because the petals are like wax.

flickrの友人たちが、この花のすばらしい写真をたくさんupしていたので、わたしまでがそうする必要はなかったかも。ただ、わたしの背が低い分、この香り高い花を下から見上げる構図になったことが、唯一珍しい点かもしれません^^;
Plumeria (common name Frangipani) is a genus of flowering plants in the dogbane family, Apocynaceae. It contains primarily deciduous shrubs and small trees. They are native to Central America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America as far south as Brazil but can be grown in tropical and sub-tropical regions.
Taken through a screen window, so what looks like texture is just the screen. I was sharing the window with Molly, who was some excited over the skunk, so it was a bit tricky to get a shot without a cat tail in the way. Mr Skunk has been doing a fair amount of digging on our lawn lately.
H. 'Doubled Up' is a very special fragrant hosta which has large double flowers. This one came from Bob and Nancy Solberg in North Carolina

I changed from ground cayenne pepper to crushed peppers because the flakes lasted longer with daily watering, and it stopped squirrels from digging better. :)
