Amidst the great variability, in terms of colors and shapes, of blooms presented by orchids of the Dendrobium genus, those species belonging to the Callista section stand out, characterized by their showy inflorescences in the form of leafy bunches, with petals, sepals and lips in varied shades. Dendrobium chrysotoxum is a beautiful representative of this botanical section, known for its abundant blooms, composed of yellow petals and sepals, which contrast with the lip in an incredible shade of yolk orange.
The flowers are highly fragrant of honey and are short lived.

Sheila's Perfume, a Floribunda Rose, winner of the Royal National Rose Society's Eland's Medal for fragrance. Growing in my San Diego garden
A rose is a woody perennial flowering plant of the genus Rosa, in the family Rosaceae. There are over three hundred species and thousands of cultivars. They form a group of plants that can be erect shrubs, climbing, or trailing, with stems that are often armed with sharp prickles. Flowers vary in size and shape and are usually large and showy, in colours ranging from white through yellows and reds. Most species are native to Asia, with smaller numbers native to Europe, North America, and northwestern Africa. Species, cultivars and hybrids are all widely grown for their beauty and often are fragrant. Roses have acquired cultural significance in many societies. Rose plants range in size from compact, miniature roses, to climbers that can reach seven meters in height. Different species hybridize easily, and this has been used in the development of the wide range of garden roses. 21403

A quiet bloom of Hosta ‘Fragrant Blue’.
Hosta (Plantain lily, ’Giboushi’ in Japanese) is a genus of flowering plants in the asparagus family. ‘Fragrant Blue' has powdery blue-green leaves and fragrant pale-lavender flowers, suggesting that this lovely cultivar is descended from Hosta plantaginea native to China and Hosta sieboldiana native to Japan.
Had some great photos taken at the pond Yesterday with another Lily blooming to compete with this Bulls Eye Lily.
After the Female laid her eggs she posed for me on the flower, she even let me put my palm under her and touching her wings.
