This is the second 'Poseidon' in my garden. Both are doing well, which surprises me, since white margins are hard to keep in my climate.
If you scratch the screen, you can almost fill the room with the perfrume of this rose. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our lives were such that our presence was a sweet aroma for others. Without the thorns, of course.

A close up of the beautiful blossoms of the Buckinghamia celsissima tree that is now in flower everywhere around Brisbane. This tree a few doors up from my house. Some streets are lined by these trees, a really nice sight at this time of the year.

Nymphaea odorata

Also known as American White Waterlily, this non-native aquatic flower is an import from eastern North America. It is commonly used in water gardens, from where it escaped into lakes and ponds all over the Pacific Northwest. In many places it is now an invasive nuisance, covering entire lakes with a solid mat, smothering everything else. It has pure white, blazing pink, and intermediate forms; all three are to be found together in this pond.

My Oncidium Fragrant Fantasy started blooming when I put it back outside. It was inside for over a week and it really didn't like it. It had started to drop some of the buds, so I figured it needed some outside time. I was just glad that the temps were going back up above 50.
